Good. He’s done a good job as governor, but I suspect that he has mainly been fairly conservative in that job because it’s a conservative state, and that’s what the voters want. If he ran for POTUS, he would have shifted left.
On the negative, he is a long term insider, machine politician, and he could be trusted to do what machine politicians do—whatever is expedient.
Sorry, but I think that’s the truth. But he will hopefully continue to do a lot of good where he is now.
It is the truth. When the rest of us were being drafted, he was deep in the political scene. Conjecture on my part, but that protected him from the unpleasantness of the time and allowed him to become a prominent, wealthy lobbyist who is still collecting money from his former company.
I agree with all your points. In addition to those, he would probably do poorly in most areas of the nation. Glad to have his attention focused right here, right now.
