What about a risk/benefit analysis of common household toxic chemicals and insecticides, prescription drugs, alcohol and/or illegal drugs, power tools, kitchen cutlery, etc., etc., etc.?
There are numerous items in the average home that can easily hurt, maim or kill someone.

Not to mention dragging the kid to the pediatrician every time they sneeze, which exposes them to a lot more than at home.

Any idiot with 2 brain cells knows you don’t leave loaded guns laying around little toddlers, once they are big enough to be taught better than mess with a gun, the likihood of accidents at home are probably zero. Its the kid that’s never taught dog doo that picks up a gun and pulls the trigger because they’re curious.
