I’ve read at several places, BOTH parents must be US citizen at the time of obama’s birth. Yet romney lawyers seem to think you only need one. Obama 2008 resolution which he voted for also define natural born citizen as both parents must be US citizen for Mccain. Also a 1898 court intepretation also ruled that you only need to be born on US soil to be natural born citizen.
Obviously theres a lot of different intepretation, But those who believe in following the original constitutional meaning will can only draw that obama indeed is NOT a natural born citizen
I believe that under common law, the citizenship of the Dad is historically the only one that mattered.
Of course, he needs to have two citizen parents, but Scotus is hiding under their desks. It is not likely that Roberts who was more than happy to swear in an ineligible President is going to do anything about the trashing of the Constitution.

There is no magical meaning for “Natural Born Citizen” it just means that you were a citizen at birth.
There are DIFFERENT rules for adopted citizenship, Citizenship born abroad of TWO citizens, and citizenship born abroad of ONE citizen parent.
Father was a foreigner, mother not old enough according to the laws at the time, to convey citizenship to anybody.
If Obama was not born on U.S. soil, not only isn't he an Article II, Section 1, Clause 5, “Natural Born Citizen”, he isn't a U.S. citizen AT ALL. He would be an illegal alien who should be deported.

I have studied this for over 2 years, there is no doubt in my mind that the founders meant Born on U.S. soil, to two U.S. citizens. NO DOUBT. Google Leo Donofrio and be prepared to spend some time.
Unfortunately, the Supreme Court could rule either way. There are many arguments including English common law that would define the place of birth as the deciding factor (including a speech by James Madison in Congress no less) while others would argue that parentage was the deciding factor.
Jewish custom is to follow the mother as to whether a child is Jewish. Since obama is already in, I would assume that the court would go with place. Since a tie goes to the runner, obama would probably win NBC status.
That said, obama is still the worst president in history and must be defeated.
