Well I don’t know about that.
But I do know that I am very proud to see American flags being waved and USA being chanted outside of the White House on the day Bin Laden is killed.
I don’t really care what party they voted for in the last election right now.
There will be plenty of time to get back to politics.
Let’s rejoice tonight and give thanks to our military who made this happen.
Sadly more than we can afford right now.

It is surprising it was so clean(or maybe he just didn’t want to spoil the party and we’ll find out later on that it wasn’t so clean).
You always heard he had this huge security detail.

I’m just thinking about what was going through his mind when he finally saw Uncle Sam pay him a visit. There was no new caliphate. The Saudi royal family is still in power. He didn’t topple any arab regimes. None of his muslim friends were there to help him. Allah wasn’t there to save him. The State of Israel still exists. The United States still exists. Americans will get up tomorrow morning and do the same things they’ve always done. I hope there was a moment when he’d realized he’d lost before he died and I hope he knew it was the United States that killed him.
I also wonder what was going through the mind of whoever it was on our side who pulled the trigger. What he was thinking when he finally saw the 6’4” terrorist in front of him, when he had him in his sights, and when he knew he just had to squeeze his finger to send him to hell.
Those are odd demonstrations. I was trying to think if I could ever remember US citizens celebrating the success of any specific military operation. I can’t think of one. Always any public shows of sentiment involved parades or ceremonies to honor troops in general, or the celebrations at the end of the major wars.
But I’m not so sure the WH, or some of their supporters, would think about the reaction in the Muslim world before they considered visuals for the 2012 election campaign.
Love it! Too bad we’ll never know the name of this hero who killed Bin laden.

I do think the Brits knew about this. Looking back something was off about the wedding. There was a definite undercurrent at that wedding. They postponed their honeymoon right away.
It could have been a warning that Obama was going in for the kill..but that would have required them telling the Queen days in advance.
Then you have these conflictings stories about what happened.
But then again, I don’t trust Obama . He could tell me the sky was blue and I would have a hard time believing him.

I posted about Clancy upthread. The minute I head the mansion in Islamabad I thought about the Emir and his mansion in Vegas. It really was uncanny. He had to have some inside scoop.
Or maybe Clancy is just really smart when it comes to this stuff.
I never thought he was in a cave. It made sense he’d be in some populated area. I long thought he was being protected by some intel agency(I thought maybe the Iranians). But if you look at the maps Abbotabad is fairly residential. It has a golf course, schools, hospitals, etc...
I suspect there’s way more involved that will come out(or maybe it won’t).

Obama will get credit politically for it. However, if we are hit again by another 9/11 attack or worse, then any credit for killing Osama will be washed away. Bush kept us safe for 8 years. Obama must do it for at least the next two years or suffer the political consequences.
I am also concerned about the impact on what is now happening in the Middle East. It could affect the direction these new revolutionary movements will take. Ir is going to take awhile to see how things sort themselves out.

Probably not. CNN said the Navy Seals used multiple helicopters, one had mechanical difficulties so they blew it up after transferring all of the Seals to another helicopter, so I think they went in thru the front door, in strength.
