What nation were these so-called “Muslim seaman” from?

Probably the Islamic State of Dearbornistan.

The burial was done in accordance with Islamic law, officials said. A Muslim seaman conducted the process and said the prayers, with bin Laden's body wrapped in the "appropriate way."

Did he also get taps, a 21 gun salute and a Playboy magazine to tide him over until he gets his 72 virgins?

Americans will not be happy this guy was treated with respect....

I'm one of them. Enraged this administration Honored him by giving him Islamic rites etc. Even some of the Muslims are happy he is gone. No wonder this administration said they couldn't find anyone to take the body....how about his family? So more and more this reeks of nonesense.

I still stick with my first idea: strap’em to a tomahawk and set the coordinates for that big black haji-box in mecca.

body-gram for mr. mecca...

If this is true than I am pleased our soldiers took aim as they did... and if I had lost a family member or friend in 9/11 any one of those many bullits could be fired in my name...and there would not be too many fired IMO.

Writing this I recalled the many people jumping to their deaths from the top of the twin towers....it was that or suffer the flames licking at their backs...they had no options.

So osama had a choice...surrender or die......regardess of how reported...If I was a soldier I would have wanted to see his face and see it coming...and I hope that he did.

There was one re-enactment...cartoonish loooking...that showed Ben Ladens 72 pigs hum*ing him, with satan standing over him laughing. Imagine what the Moslems will say when that reaches them!

Isn’t it bad for the little fishies and cute little sea anemones to dump the body in the sea? Where is PETA when you need them?

I’m confused. I thought the whole muslim world was already inflamed, is inflamed, and will perpetually be inflamed? That’s, you know, like, what muslims do!

Eventually, someone will figure who the seaman is and he’ll be written down into history books in the same fashion that Hitler’s burial was handled. This is not the reputation that you’d really like to have for the rest of your life.

..."on the Obama administration giving Osama bin Laden a Muslim-led Islamic burial at sea so as not to "inflame" the Muslim world."...

In other words, the muslim world is just one big hemorrhoid.

I don’t think an E-3 (Seaman) is usually rated yet as a chaplain.
I am guessing his religion is Islamic. So OBL was not given an Imam ritual. Thank God there was not a Navy Corpsman involved in the story, Odumbo and his people may have called him a corpse man.

I suspect that some folks on the chopper on the way out to the carrier probably gave him some last rites....by pissing on him...I know that is what we would have done if we had caught and killed our old friend HO...during Vietnam. I suspect todays warriors probably did the same. Can you imagine a Grandfather years from now telling his grandchildren,,,,I pissed in the face of ole bin laden...

You're very welcome.

Thanks for showing honor to American Servicemen, who are free to believe or not believe as their conscience dictates, and who paid the final price.

That sure encapulates one of our core values as Americans, IMO, and the price they paid to protect those values is more than any of us have given. I respect all personnel serving America with honor, and I am so grateful for the hard work and sacrifices of them--and of their loved ones, who often endure absences at best...and sometimes loss.

“That sure encapsulates one of our core values as Americans”

I was talking with a ‘Persian’ gal this weekend. I joked her that I was ‘Thracian’, but I understand why she didn't say “Iranian”. Worked with a woman who could tell stories about the mullahs that would make me cringe - she suffered enough at their hands - and managed to escape to the land of opportunity and to become an American. She had ‘the fervor of the newly converted’ and was more American than most Americans.

I hate to see that sort get lumped in with those who they fled from in both ideology and geography.

LOL! Well, I think that with the Thracians, it works in reverse!

With leaving Islam being a potential death sentence, is it any wonder people aren't so eager to be vocal about it? And if people rightfully ask why we don't hear from moderate Muslims if they exist, I think those grave markers speak loudly.
