ABC News' Jake Tapper reports here and here on the Obama administration giving Osama bin Laden a Muslim-led Islamic burial at sea so as not to "inflame" the Muslim world ... My attitude is if the Muslim world wanted to ensure a proper Islamic burial for bin Laden they should have killed him and buried him.Exactly right. It is a fool's game to try to appease irrational behavior. I am all for according last respects to those who deserve it, even enemies. But we buy nothing by showing respect where it is not due.

I agree. The only reason to give someone a “proper burial” is out of respect for that person and their soul, period. Don’t do it because you fear stirring up a whole religion of already angry whackos. It’s not going to make any difference. If giving bin Laden a proper burial was to keep from inflaming the muzzies, why did we have to increase our security precautions?
