If they did get a treasure trove of intelligence why would they tip everyone off by publicizing it?

Light to the cockroaches....make them make a run for it...then take them out...it doesn't matter WHAT intell they get as long as the enemy thinks they got intell leading directly to them.....keeps them guessing and nervous.

Well, I find it odd that no court order was issued to obtain evidence. I find it odd that the left is wanting to prosecute CIA staff who waterboarded detainees, yet wet their pants in joy when the same people blow a guys brains out and illegally steal his personal property?
I don't have an issue with what the operation was, it's tactical accomplishments, or it's taking of data. I just have a problem with the left's hypocracy.
Scary dudes in the liberal part of America. They have nothing but situational ethics. That's dangerous. It's what produces Waco's, Richard Jewel assaults, and Project Gun Walker.

When it comes to doing really neat things to people, you STFU. That way the joy keeps coming.
Personally I think Bin Laden thought Obama was his friend(in relative terms). I think OBL thought he was safe from any covert action. That is exactly why he was living where he was.

The hidden trophy of Sundays raid: The JSOC team captured intelligence materials from the compound that might reveal the location of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the organizations new commander. Thats where were going next, says one U.S. official involved in planning the operation.
Uh...whatever for?

To watch the cockroaches scatter. Hope all satellites are trained on the ME. I expect them to go to ground until they think it’s safe to resume their death and destruction. I bet Zawahiri and the guy in Yemen are thinking about how soon a helicopter will pay them a visit.

Because Zawahiri and Co. would be idiots to imagine the SEALS didn't get Bin Ladin’s files. So why not say so? And twitchy vermin become worried that their present hidey-holes aren't so safe and start trying to find safer ones. And when they're in transit they can easily make a mistake that gets them caught.

Couple reasons.
1) When their buddies in the ISI get done looking at the scene, they will learn that all the hard drives were ripped out of the computers, and other electronics were missing.
2) If you act like you have lots of information it makes interrogations easier. You pretend like you already know everything, and the detainee is just agreeing with you.
3) Just to be a jerk.

If they did get a treasure trove of intelligence why would they tip everyone off by publicizing it? My thoughts, exactly. If they truly do have "the mother lode of intelligence" that they claim to, they just rendered much of it useless by blabbing that fact to our enemies.
I suspect that they don't have nearly as much intel as they claim, and are doing this to get the cockroaches scurrying.

They will find links to places and people that they will never release. China? Russian arms dealers with links to govt? Any Americans in contact with him? All above and beyond the links throughout the Arab world, that parts a no brainer.
You can bet we will never know 95% of what they find.

Just a guess:
You want to see the rats scurrying from their holes. And chaos and confusion disrupts whatever activities might be in the works.

"If they did get a treasure trove of intelligence why would they tip everyone off by publicizing it?"
A rhetorical question perhaps?
