U.S. attorney general: bin Laden operation lawful 11:49am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Attorney General Eric Holder defended as lawful on Tuesday the U.S. operation to go into Pakistan that resulted in the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and the taking of his body.

The acts taken were "lawful, legitimate and appropriate in every way. The people who were responsible for that action, both in the decision making and the effecting of that decision............

Wait a minute, did they read those enemy combatants their Miranda rights first?

What about a civilian trial???

So our Nobel Peace Prize winner has escalated the war in Afghanistan, called for assasination of US citizens suspected of terrorism, engaged in the overthrow and military action including killing of innocent civilians in Libya, and now invaded a sovereign country to assasinate a foreign leader.

As Rush says, all without a single UN Resolution!!!

Zero transgressed the sovereignty of Pakistan, in violation of international law, and OBL was not mirandized, in violation of the US Constitution. Clearly an illegal operation...for a Republican president, anyway.

Different set of rules........

From an alien of a distant planet. Really, Holder! You would not know the rule of law if it hit you in the nose.

I demand a diversity disclosure of the Seal Team. Sounds just like an angry bunch of hooded southern white guys if you aks me. They most likely thought they were raiding a black church.

“The acts taken were “lawful, legitimate and appropriate in every way.”

Only because Obama, not George W. Bush, happened to be President at the time.

“This isn’t the first time he has addressed whether something is lawful or constitutional. No division of powers in the branches anymore.”

What are you talking about? One of the principal duties of the Attorney General is to provide advice to the president on whether something is legal or constitutional. Besides, the Judicial Branch is by no means the sole arbiter of the constitutionality of a law or act—the other co-equal branches of government are entitled to their own opinion, even if, at the end of the day, it is the courts that have the final say in a case properly before them. It is liberals, not conservatives, who believe in an imperial judiciary.

Eric Holder says enough wrong-headed things that it is really unnecessary ofor you to harp on him on one of the few instances in which he’s right.

On Freedom Watch last night, Judge Napolitano said the operation was absolutely, positively unlawful.

So who you gonna believe? The judge or the AG who damns legislation he hasnt read?

Reminds me of the “good ole days” right after 911 when an artist created a monument in the image of a photo of New York white firefighters puting a flag on the heap of the world trade center. Remember that? It was shouted down by “Holder’s people” and his racers because it was not protraying diversity. So if we do a monument to the SEALs who knocked off Osama, it will have to be Black SEALs or no SEALs. No whiteys.

Hey, wasn’t it Janet Napalitano who was teaching the Afghan army last September on mountain warfare tactics and border security issues with Pakistan? She was there to tighten up border region security to catch the flow of Al-quaeda and Bin laden operatives....................

Can you understand what a f’d up mess it would have been if he was brought in alive and eric, My People, holder got involved.

I can’t believe that holder is able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

I’m fairly certain that at Rashard’s mosque, there will be funeral dirges, a candlelight vigil and not a dry eye in the house.

The fact that our strike team KILLED Osama is the ONLY thing that gives the mission any sense of completeness and closure.

When the first word trickled out that his compound had been located, and that our military elite had paid him a visit, I was in an initial state of dread that we might have taken him alive.

The way this admin has botched up everything else, I couldn’t help but expect to hear that we had him in custody, that he’d been Mirandized, and was headed for some domestic prison to be held until a date and venue could be arranged for Obama’s Court Terror Circus.

I’m EVER so happy that isn’t possible.

Holder’s statements don’t upset me nearly as much as Harry “the war is lost” Reid’s hypocritical statements I just saw this afternoon.

I’ve been fighting little online word battles today with liberal college classmates who think that only a “capture” operation could have been justified, and/or that there’s something wrong with feeling “celebratory” about the death of OBL.

Yes there really are (supposedly) educated people who are in a state of liberal dismay that OBL has been killed, and/or that people actually delight in his death. Unreal.

Ain`t that the truth. Had it been Bush, holder would be demanding impeachment and imprisonment.
