Rip ‘im all you want from your vantage point. I personally find, even as an evangelical Christian, self-righteousness to be more than a bit annoying.

The man wasn’t a saint, no. By the way, as to his becoming the guardian/lover of an underaged girl...Ted Nugent....whom I love and most here do, as well.....did exactly the same thing. Don’t see him being verbally castrated here.

It was a different time. Rock is its own world. Don’t judge. Tyler, by all accounts, is now one hell of a guy and has a big heart. I believe it, just as I know Ted has changed in his latter years.

For others who point and crow at these guys, imagine yourself as a young, 20-something rock star with gorgeous babes throwing themselves at you everywhere you go, people giving you anything you want at any time, people adoring you on stage night after night, year after year....live that life for a while then tell me what a priest you’d be.

Amen.

I didn’t find the lord until I was 38 years old. I was a pretty rotten guy. The self righteous are no better or worse than I am or was. I am far more put of by them than than those who profess no faith at all.

Matt 6:1: 1”Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.”

Matt 6:5-7: 5”And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

For whatever reason, some people have a desire and the talent to be that way. I have two brothers who had that Rock Star desire, and while they never made the big time, they still make a little money on the side, in various local bands, although they have normal real jobs in the daytime. They've ended up fairly decent citizens, make their own living, don't depend upon others.

Who knows why some do, and some don't? I certainly never had that desire, and glad I didn't. I imagine I could have descended into the debauchery, if I did.

Not self righteous, not a Priest, just some with NORMAL sensibilities. If Ted Nugent, or Pope Paul did this, they deserve to go to jail. There are 100’s of WOMEN throwing themselves at you, so you CHOOSE a 14 year old child? You can’t dismiss this. If it were my daughter at the time, and Tyler was my favorite rock star, I still would have gone after him with a baseball bat.

I admit that I have a degree of difficulty feeling sorry for a man who actively chose this outcome. I still welcome his voice to those who have come to regret the “choice” whether they made it or it was made by the woman. Never a fan of his kind of music myself, but if he helps someone else make a different decision, I’m not going to argue with that.
