The biggest reason that I am supporting Cain is that he is not a professional politican. I do not trust professional politicians.
Right. That’s why I was willing to listen to Trump. I’m more than willing to listen to Cain...I’ve been listening to him for years and unless he tries to change who he is to suit some consultants idea of what the ideal GOP candidate should be I’ll be very interested in him.
Ah, but here’s the rub — once they get elected, they ARE professional politicians.
I would like to see the next President come from primarily the private sector. With that, I would rather see Herman Cain than Donald Trump. Cain has a more established record as a real conservative.
The Paulbots here in St Paul, MN, seem to be more college student types. Back in the Texas Hill Country though, Ron Paul does seem to have some support amongst the ranchers.
Politics has always been the province of professionals like every other great art. It is a complete myth that our Founders were not professional politicians. I do not know of a single important Founder who did not have extensive experience in offices. Lincoln is the president with the least experience in politics that I am aware of and he was deeply into politics even.
When amateurs go up against professionals in almost every field and instance the amateur loses.
Once they win a political office they become a professional politician and there is nothing in their former professions which give them moral or ethical superiority to the “professional politician.”
I do not trust human beings.
