Huckabee Opts Against 2012 White House Bid

Mike Huckabee said Saturday there would be no sequel to his surprisingly strong 2008 White House bid, in which he won the Iowa Republican caucus and finished second in the primaries to Sen. John McCain.

"All the factors say go, but my heart says no," Huckabee, who was considered the GOP frontrunner in several national polls, said on his Fox News Channel show.

Before his announcement Saturday night, Huckabee hadn't shared his decision with his closest advisers.

Many of those advisers predicted Huckabee wouldn't run.

Ed Rollins, who was Huckabee's national campaign chairman for the 2008 campaign, said he expected this decision after Huckabee had broken off communications with him about a week ago.

Follow the money!

He couldn’t raise the funds and he loves money.

At least he, unlike the others, realize that Sarah will suck the oxygen out of the room when she declares.

Off topic: Mitch Daniels says he’ll ask Condi to be VP. Is this guy a political hack or what?

I like him in some areas but not in all, although I don’t expect to like any candidate 100%. However, I see him as the Hubert Humphrey of the GOP. That is, he’s smart, competent and a nice guy, but he just doesn’t have the energy or the vision to get the votes.

And he certainly doesn’t have what it will take to turn back the horrible things Bambi has done. I’m not sure who does, actually.

Please consider Michelle Bachman instead of Palin.

It will be interesting to see the new polling and where the Huck support moves to. I cannot see it going to Romney, and I suspect that the majority of the Huck support moves to the “none of the above/not sure” category.

Good, the GOP needs attack dogs in this new reality, not Teddy Bears.

I think Michelle and Sarah are cut from the same cloth. They would make a formidable team. Fortunately, Michelle is already in a position to do the most good. Can we say Speaker Bachman?

Yes, he is...If Daniels is the Republican nominee, then Obama gets 4 more years. I'm not going to let a meth head lead the police on a high speed chase for 4 years only to say "here, you drive" a half second before we go off the cliff.

I’m surprised his overinflated ego allowed him to bow out.

Now if only the mittwit will make the same decision.

At the end of the day this isn’t the right cycle for him. He’s too soft to punch Zero in the face rhetorically. Especially with the media in the tank as always. GOP has to realize we need a bold candidate that’s ready to go for the jugular.

Fatty little eyes
They walk around
Tellin' big fatty lies
They got little fatty noses
And fatty little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty fatty feet...
