We have CC Blvd here in L.A. I spoke with some of the business owners and they still call it by it’s old Blvd name..the “Battery’.

If the Navy wants to honor the “hispanic” crowd, why not USS Speedy Gonzalez?

Well I agree he was a communist, but Cesar himself never killed anyone that we know of.

I think you're thinking of Che Guevara. César Chávez was an American who pushed for unionization of Latinos and "Latino Rights," whatever that means.

but i still think it's a dumb idea to name a ship after him... he was a farmers' union leader... the guy who stood up for the grape pickers...
