Political Wives' 'Tipper Point' Is Way Too Late (Mrs. Algore and the Sex Poodle are DIVORCED?)

Political Wives' 'Tipper Point' Is Way Too Late
By Sandra Kobrin

Maria Shriver asked for privacy this week in the matter of her breakup with Schwarzenegger over his "love child." Sandra Kobrin says sorry, but when a woman stays married to a powerful womanizer, the personal turns deeply public and political.

Tipper Gore is the woman now divorced from her husband, former Vice President Al Gore, a prominent social activist, after 40 years. In June 2010, she gave notice just three weeks before allegations of sexual abuse by her husband against a massage therapist in 2006, hit the national news.

With a tip of the hat to Gladwell and Gore I define the "Tipper point" as the moment of critical mass, the threshold, the boiling point where a wife can no longer stand for the sexual philandering, sexual abuse or gross misconduct of her rich and powerful husband.

I just wish more women reached this point more quickly. It would do a lot of other women a lot of good and might have altered this week's double feature of sex scandals.

First came Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the International Monetary Fund, accused of sexually assaulting a hotel worker in New York. The woman involved didn't follow the code of silence that is widely reported to protect French male elites. Instead she reported her story to police and Strauss-Kahn was forced to trade in his Frette sheets at the Sofitel for a cot at Rikers.

Bingo! They have too much dirt on each other to ever get a divorce.

That’s not exactly a typical example. You’re sounding like a liberal feminist.

Nooooo. Many conservative women hold the same perspective. Especially once we hit about forty.

It is not a leftist or conservative perspective it is a Woman’s View.

Tipper lost it with AL when he chickened out of disowning Bill at Impeachment time. The Gores and the Clintons absolutely detest each other, especially on the distaff side, because they always treated Tipper as if she were some sort of moron.

Tipper's advice to Al was "If Bill doesn't resign, you must!" Had he had the cojones to follow her advice, he could have walked into the Presidency. However, Bill sweet-talked him into staying on, and thereafter treated him like absolute crap! LOL.

BTW, Al is really kind of dumb.

Factoid: Press photographers were forbidden, on pain of a fate worse than death, to photograph the Gores and the Clintons from behind. Big butt people! Blot out the Sun!

She did mention Hillary, and how she has stayed with her husband, even after, the story said he was impeached for lying about his actions with Monica.

At least the author didn't repeat the silliness about his being impeached for his 'affair' with Monica. It wasn't his sexual activities that got him into trouble, it was his lying to the Grand Jury, and his suborning perjury in the testimony of another witness to the Grand Jury.

Never let those socialists live it down.

You're doing more for conservatism than 99% of conservatives. Screaming and posting is one thing, butt impacting independent/moderate voters gets us actual results.

So keep on drinking...it might be "immoral," but "it's something that's safe." ;-)

You sound like a sexist pig. No not really, but I don’t appreciate name calling with no facts. I am extremely conservative.

I apologize. I was out of line. Needless to say, you’re not the first person to call me that. I actually think it first happened in 4th grade.

Good for you, I actually think I should have followed your example. At FR you can have all the women hating threads you want, but don’t imply that maybe men aren’t perfect or else you get jumped all over.

Actually, I took your comment as realizing that marriage just wasn’t right for you. I actually admire you for that.
