About that Rapture (third item)
The Washington Times ^ | Jennifer Harper

“Will the world end on May 21st? No. It will not. In fact, I stake my personal reputation on it,” says Arizona psychic Blair Robertson, who has shared a few predictions about world events with Inside the Beltway in the past. “I predict that soon Harold Camping, the man who originated this idea, will experience his own ‘end of days’ very suddenly, leaving behind many angry believers.”

This is all just another Obama sponsored stimulus package to get people to spend money in this lousy economy.

The Rapture HAS HAPPENED. We just don’t know it because all the people that were taken have been erased from our minds.

BTW, I saw the actual Hale-Bopp comet with my own eyes. It was amazing.

Yeah, honestly I will admit I am a huge astronomy guy. I want to save up for one of those GPS telescopes but it was amazing to see an actual comet in the sky.

The only movie I can think of that showed a comet in the sky was "Deep Impact" with Elijah Woods and Tea Leoane.

I was in Jr. High for Hale-Bopp and was thinking a comet was like a meteor that would shoot across the sky. It was only then I realized comets were like stars or planets they were stationary in the sky and could be tracked.

I really want to get a GPS telescope however, I live in suburban Chicago and the lights make the sky difficult to see the cool stuff. I swear the only constellations I know are Orion and Cassiopeia. Other than that it is lights from the city and suburbs.

If anyone has any suggestions for GPS telescopes in an urban area I would really appreciate it. The telescope I currently have is awful and I would love a legitimate telescope. You can FReepmail so we don't hijack this thread.

Do you know if we have an astronomy thread or ping list? I am really looking to getting a GOOD telescope although they keep coming out with new ones every day.

If there is a FReep thread with info that would be amazing. I am an amateur astronomer. But I want a telescope that is able to not only have GPS but have the ability to take pictures that can be loaded to the computer.

I am not so sure I could believe that Arizona psychic:

What happened to all the Tea Party members in South Carolina - all the good people
seemed to have vanished and just left these two who want to keep the government out
of their Medicare.

We have had so many of the non churched folks we associate with come and sort of confront us over this guy.

I told my kids instead of getting into huge dogma explanations, to just tell them Camping is a cultist. After all, he told people to leave their regular churches and just listen to him.

I agree that it is poor policy to attempt to date set and ignores some definite teachings. One good aspect is to rehearse setting one’s volition to remain in fellowship with God for an entire day and keeping short accounts.

I don’t think I make it past an hour very often and might even be so scarred in my thinking that I frequently am unaware when I am out of fellowship. Short accounts and continually praying is often the solution.

Damn I napped though the Rapture - it is 6:12pm so I suppose I am not going to heaven.

Pretty misty here - or maybe that is the smoke from all those volcanos erupting.

Al Jazeera is still broadcasting from Dohar - I bet they have been told to pretend everything is OK so as not to cause panic and all this is from tape made yesterday.

The words of those two songs hold more wisdom than all the religious books ever written.

"It is 6PM that you have to worry about"

Then I better get my ass to Key West.
My buddy Jimmy Buffett is having a party at the End of the World. AKA The beach at Key West.
