That’s if you turn off the player, I think. You can certainly pause movie for as long as you want.
I tried this. I left my player on overnight on pause so that I could resume the next day. The player (almost all are like this) turns itself off after a certain time period of no activity. This is to preserve the drive which keeps spinning while in pause. At any rate, I had to start from the very beginning the next day.
