Ailes is a wholly owned Bush subsidiary, Al, as you point out. Bush 41 gave him his start and made him.

Unfortunately, Ailes didn’t “make” Palin and he can’t break her. All he can do is leak out little hit pieces like this (if in fact he is complicit with this lib), as if anyone gives a hoot what his opinion is. I bet 95% of the country doesn’t know who he is and, of the 5% who do, 60% think little of him. That number is about to rise, and his nasty effort to knife Palin—who is the biggest draw by far on what has become a pretty miserable channel—may result in a ratings slide that will take FOX into Air America territory.

People who mess with Sarah generally don’t come out the better for it.

Could be; any advice from Rollins has to be bad advice.

He had me growling at the tv screen a few times.

The tea party I think is quiet right now. But just wait til 2012. It will be HOT! I think it will show up in the primaries, NO ESTABLISHMENT TYPES. I bet they are trying to drag Jeb in right now.
I have really slowed down FNC, as much for my mental health as anything. Sick of the crap, never ending same old stuff over and over. Have to get more new blood in there to fight the hierarchy.

First of all, I think Ailes is so full of crap that his eyes are brown. FNC is NOT the network I first turned to a number of years ago when I heard Rush Limbaugh giving it high marks. But the likes of BOR, et al, have been steadily dragging it to the left ever since.

But speaking of FNC, Ailes and Glenn Beck; As we all know, Beck is leaving FNC. I believe he has the cruds of being told what he can show on FNC and what he can’t. For isntance, he is not allowed to show the video of the World Trade Towers coming down, even on the 9/11 anniversary.

I think Glenn has a lot more planned than most people expect. The largest item being that he is going to launch HIS OWN NETWORK, just like Ted Turner did, where he can have as guests whomever he wants, reveal the dirty laundry on whatever Washington bureaucrat he wants, and show whatever videos he wants, WHEN he wants. I say more power to him!

And let FNC and BOR continue to suck up to the Knucklehead Lamont Hills and the Geraldo Riveras, Juan Williamses and Lanny Davises of the world, and let Sean Hannity suck up to Bob Beckle and THAT ilk! While Glenn, hopefully will continue taking names and kicking butts!

“He thinks things are going in a bad direction,” another Republican close to Ailes told me. “Roger is worried about the future of the country. He thinks the election of Obama is a disaster. He thinks Palin is an idiot. He thinks she’s stupid. He helped boost her up. People like Sarah Palin haven’t elevated the conservative movement.”
Atrocious. I can’t read the rest. HE THINKS HE MADE PALIN???????? WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP.
I guess I am late to the posting, this just burns me.

You are precisely right, libbylu! We will be on fire for the primaries.

Never again will the rinorepublicans select our nominee or our House and Senate candidates!!

Those fossil incumbents are going to get the heave-ho in the primaries too!

NEVER FORGET THE CONTEXT FOR ALL OF THIS:

Next for GOP leaders: Stopping Sarah Palin

With that said, I have no doubt that the two Republicans "close to Ailes" cited in this hit piece are none other than George H.W. Bush and his lap dog Karl Rove.

I’ve gotta say ... didn’t read the full article ... but I think this is BS.

People are always criticizing Fox News on here. They are not as conservative as we’d like. they are, in fact, fair and balanced with a slight to medium conservative slant. but they do bring out stories and opinions one cannot get elsewhere. That’s why the left hates them so much.

The panel on the Sunday show and on Brett’s show has continued to ignore Sarah, perhaps because the conservatives on the show like D. Perino don’t care for her.

But this conspiracy thing is over the top.

I doubt it’s GHWB. He’s got nothing to gain from it. If there’s anyone I would blame it’s the No Labels crowd.

After Sarah’s tea party speech, Dana P on the Sunday panel said Sarah gave a good speech and she thought she would run. Rove etal are very anti Palin. I am gonna join a Freeper from last year who said she was going to watch Life Time.....

Is the "Republican close to Ailes" GHWB? Who knows but this article states that he and Ailes are very close.

What about Rudy Giuliani? Ailes was a consultant to Giuliani's campaign back in teh 1990s, Giuliani officiated at Ailes' wedding, and Giuliani got the city of New York to side with Fox News in some cable dispute. Ailes and Rick Perry are two of Giuliani's closest friends. I don't think any of this is a surprise.

There is something else - News Corp has been moving to the left here and there, such as promoting homosexuality among schoolchildren with Glee and pushing anti-military messages with Avatar, and Fox News is owned by News Corp.

Rupert Murdoch has said his goals with News Corp., Fox, and Fox News, are to make money, and apparently he is making a lot of money bashing the military and promoting homosexuality. I don't see Fox News sliding all the way to the left, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it move to the center, which in my view is a move to the left, and Fox News has been used to promote Avatar and Glee and other Fox properties that a lot of us don't care about.

In other words, this maybe above Ailes' head. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't happened before now.

Maybe it already has - Fox News hasn't exactly done a stellar job of covering some of the major Tea Party rallies. They may have run a lot of commercials for Tea Party events in the past, but they were getting paid to.

Christie has been a governor only 2 years. Why do so many commmentators give Palin a tough time, but act like Christie is the 3rd coming of the Messiah (with obama being the 2nd)

Anti-gun: Christie favors strict enforcement of New Jersey’s gun laws, and those laws are anti-2nd amendment.

Pro-gay union: gay union is just a quibble that really says you’d support gay marriage if it really came down to it.

Pro-amnesty: Christie says being in the US illegally isn’t criminal. It’s only criminal if you’ve once been deported and then have returned.

I cannot see myself supporting Romney-lite.

Also notice that the day she defended herself her slid in the polls stopped, the attacks stopped and instead of accusing her of mass murder the media accused her of being antijew with the “blood libel” quote.

Yep, she saved herself by taking her fate into her own hands and not playing by the Ailes/Bush "do nothing" playbook.

A lot of us don't like Fox News because the parent company is pushing filth to our kids and because Fox News fills up too much airtime with airheads. Those airheads spend too much time obsessed with the sex or criminal lives of celebrities and dragging out issues that could be discussed in 10 minutes into an hour. When it comes to fluff on the air that has no bearing on the majority of Americans' lives or trying to fill out an hour-long show with 10 minutes of content, they are every bit as guilty as their liberal counterparts.
