The republicans had a strong candidate. The GOP is called the Stupid Party for a reason. I heard on the radio this is the 12th most republican district in the country and this will scare every republican out there - as it should.

Newt's comments were stupid and a disaster, but he had a point. The republicans will not be successful if they try to change Medicare and the seniors aren't on board - it just won't work.

Obama has the media and the repubs don't have that same cover. How many seniors know Obama wants to cut half a trillion from Medicare to fund ObamaCare - not that many.

The repubs need to learn and need to know they have to explain better and in clearer terms what they want to do with Medicare, but I have a feeling that the seniors will not put up with any changes and basically we are doomed.

correct the GOP should not have come out with the Ryan plan, now this will be used as a scare tactic and here it worked even if the left put a fake candidate.

Seniors are poll fine on Medicare. Too many here are influenced by the MSM This is a case that somehow a tea party candidate decoy turned a district outcome. I don’t know how because there were a slew of these fake te party candidates all around the country in November, and I am not aware of any that changed the outome of a race. I think if nothing else this shows the Dems put more into the race than our side. Not surprising in New York.

Nothing is ever going to change, because everybody is for cutting spending EXCEPT when it comes to their pet program, be it Social Security, or Medicare, or whatever subsidy they personally benefit from.

So nothing gets done. It’s too late to do anything about it.

Obama has the media and the repubs don't have that same cover.

What...actually consider the conditions before implementing a strategy? What a concept!

You are spot on.

These grand designs like the “Ryan Plan” or the “Fair Tax” are so easily defeated on election day it ain’t even funny. When the grenad design on the table was Obamacare last November, look what happened to the Demoviks.
