I think that FR needs to really get ahead of this election in order to help make a difference: The state chapters have to be FAR more active in the primaries and caucuses than the last election where it seemed that FR woke up one spring day and said "John McCain is our candidate? Don't we loathe him?".

This sort of organizing should be taking place now, even if we need to hire experienced talent in this. I have to wonder if the energy and money for this is really there.

Indeed, it should. Freepers would be well served to start frequenting political gatherings since this is the time to have the most effect.

I am hoping that Governor Palin will soon announce her candidacy, and it would be wonderful if her supporters were also ensconcing themselves in their local Republican establishments.
