Regarding the migraines:

We have had three clients in the past year with intractable, chronic migraines. They all responded well to massage, but relief was temporary. One had a heart valve operation and his migraines disappeared. Another is recovering right now from surgery to repair a congenital heart defect (patent foramen ovale)and his doctors have told him to expect a reduction in the migraines. The third has just been diagnosed with patent foramen ovale and we are waiting to see if the surgery to correct the defect also relieves the migraines.

We have also been told by one of our referring physicians that half our county sleeps in a recliner each night.

Just FWIW.

It’s all about gravitational brain congestion.

It knew what the "right way to sleep" would be after reading this paragraph: however the natives do it, of course. Which implies that is the "natural" way to sleep, (I am glad I read past here before posting...)but wouldn't the natural way to sleep be how people slept before the invention of the hammock (and rope, and cloth, tools, etc...) You know, on the ground with your head on a rock, or face down with your face in the grass. Hmmm, sounds kind of like the way people sleep in a bed today.

Or are you on your back with your head slightly elevated, as is the case for many native cultures that use hammocks or other non-flat surfaces for sleep?

If you sleep on your back in a hammock you will wake up with a killer backache. You sleep sideways in a hammock, as close to the middle as possible.

Now that this person has shown that they have never actually slept in a hammock I will disregard the rest of what they say as worthless.

Get a waterbed and you will never suffer brain congestion. Nobody tells you because there's not a lot of profit in waterbeds.

Best sleep I’ve ever got was years on a water bed, with the waves rolling under the surface every time you roll over. Nice and cool in summer as well. Doesn’t work for people with bad backs though.

The unpadded waterbed mattress lets you sleep on your stomach throughout. It's that amazing.

I sleep on my side but a girlfriend who slept on her stomach had trouble with as the baby grew. She knew about our waterbed (we have two, no waiting), we talked and she got one the next day. Several days later she told me about being able to sleep on her back again.

At 17 I cracked a lower vertebrae and wore a brace for four years until new neighbors sold me on the waterbed. That was decades ago and I was brace free after 5 days.

I knew that... LOL

But, you have to beautiful because all pregnant women have that glow. Stay healthy and give birth to a beautiful baby.

Now about that monster pillow. I may surprise my bride with one of those. I know that she would love it.

Thank you for the idea.

Thanks, honey! I do feel really happy so that might be part of the glow.

Oh, she will totally love it! But if she is a new bride, you/she might feel that you should BE her body pillow!

“But if she is a new bride, you/she might feel that you should BE her body pillow!”

I feel silly in that I just now realized that it’s specifically designed for pregnant gals.

I’ve been referring to that great lady as my bride for 38 wonderful years... and I still get to be her pillow. LOL

Always sleep on your stomach, with your feet over the end of the bed and your head turned to the left.

Sleepwalking cracks me up. I always thought it was more myth than reality until my grownup nephew stayed with us and I saw it with my own eyes. He would get up in the middle of the night, come downstairs, speak a string of words that made absolutely no sense and then go back upstairs to bed. Sometimes he would walk around the kitchen for a minute. I ask him questions but get no acknowledgement or response. I’ve seen him sleepwalk several times. The first time freaked me out a little because I didn’t know what was going on. My sister-in-law says he sleepwalks often. Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. Always thought it was just something that happened in cartoons.

Wow, I never heard of people being CURED by waterbeds. Very cool and I am glad you found a treatment for your back. Back problems are so problematic and so many people have back problems.

I’ve slept walked on a few occasions myself.

One time it was pretty funny. I woke up to my wife yelling at me for some reason, and I found myself in the process of standing in the kitchen, pissing in a trash can. I had no clue how I for there, or any memory of getting out of bed. lol
