Bachmann is less an impediment to Palin’s March to the nomination than was Phil Crane to Reagan’s 1980 nomination. Bachmann (and Cain) will be overwhelmed in Iowa by Palin and will disappear from the radar screen thereafter.

Once she emerges as the TEA party choice from Iowa, she will pick up whatever support Bachmann and Cain have in New Hampshire as well.

Mitt Romney, while relatively popular with the New Hampshire establishment, only drew 35% of the vote in a straw poll of the NH State Central Committee in January. The combined total of the TEA party candidates (Palin, Paul, Demint, Huckabee, Cain and Bachmann) was 31%. If Mitt is doing no better than breaking even with the TEA party candidates in New Hampshire AMONG THE PARTY ELITE, he is no doubt not doing that well among the grass roots.

Only one TEA party candidate will come out of Iowa with the wind at her back. That will be Sarah Palin. Once she does, the NH TEA partiers and anti-tax activists will coalesce around her. If she runs Mitt a close second in NH, he is probably finished. A strong second place finish could well happen after Iowa.

If she beats him in NH, the race is over.

The candidates may say that it does not matters whether Sarah runs or not, but until she makes her plans clear, they are in a holding pattern when it comes to getting donors, volunteers, strategy, etc.

And while it is great having so many true conservatives getting a platform to speak and get their views out. At some point, unless conservative voters get behind a single candidate, there’s a good chance that a RINO will walk away with the nomination. I’ve seen it too many times in primaries before.

Michelle is a proxy for Sarah until the time Sarah declares her candidacy.

Why? Because she is a woman? I reject that kind of thinking. Let the best man or woman win.

If both these ladies enter it would be fine with me. Just as we never seem to mind when more than one male enters.

Exactly, may the best man win! I will take the most Conservative, and if she has great gams all the better.

Pray for America

Bachmann is well liked in Iowa. She is from there and has spent a lot of ground time there.

Don’t think she can’t win it.

"Michelle is a proxy for Sarah until the time Sarah declares her candidacy."

Precisely. Once Sarah announces (within the next 2 months), her winning the GOP primary is a fait accompli. As much as I like Michelle, she can't hold a candle to Palin's drawing power, stadium-filling magnetism, or inhuman record of accomplishments while in office.

In fact, while I share most of Bachmann's political outlook, her legislative resumé is quite thin, while Palin's list of "Yup, Done That" successes is leviathan.

........But I think Sarah is the most compelling candidate (even though she hasn’t declared yet).

Iowa is an odd state with those caucuses. Some of Huckabee's Evang. support came from that segment who believe women belong in the home, so those folks might put their support behind T-Paw or Cain.

Iowa is certainly ripe for Sarah Palin provided she runs and plans to spend the necessary time in the state.

I have a very close, trusted friend who's also an elected offiice holder so as time goes on, I will certainly ask about the primary race in Iowa.

NH is problematic also. It's an open primary and by that I mean, so-called Independents can vote in the Republican primary and many of thse Indy's are actually democrats. If they think Palin is the worst candidate maybe they'll vote for her, but I think they'll vote against her... in the hope of handing her a loss.

Like you said, it'll take the TEA Party Republicans to coalesce around her.

If that happens, then she's off and running to South Carolina.

LOLOLOL.

Oh, it's sexist all right. That idiot John Fund was just babbling on Fox News and of course, he said he doesn't thik Sarah Palin is running because:
1. she hasn't hired anyone (wrong!)

2. she is YOUNG ENOUGH TO RUN IN 2016!!!!!
I guess Bachmann is an old bag at 55....LOL).

Let's just skip the debates, the causes, the primaries all together. Crown Palin queen bee right now!

God save us and Sarah Palin from the cult formed around her.

Bachmann is a bit extreme compared to Palin, but I don’t see these two very Christian women getting into a cat fight. (Their aides are another story.) Very likely that as a candidate either one would choose the other to run as Veep, or have some high level cabinet position in mind.

I think Garg means superhuman, not inhuman. Hitler was “inhuman.”

There’s some reasons to avoid a Palin/Bachmann duo. Even Team Obama thought they needed a white man on the ticket for purposes of traditionalism, resulting in us having a buffoon as VP. There’s no inherent racism or sexism to it, just the general thought (perhaps incorrect) that a two-minority ticket wouldn’t do well. Women are, of course, not really minority, but are often categorized that way. And, of course, there is always the threat of real sexism, such as displayed by Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, and Obama in 2008. You’ll remember there was no outrage from liberals over sexism on their own side, which means they lose nothing by employing such tactics again.

Lets see, we have Pawlenty, Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, Cain, Paul and Johnson running. That's seven male candidates. How come we never got/get stories about how one of them cancels out another? But yet with Bachmann and Palin if one decides to run the other can't do so. To me it smells of sexism and an insult to both women.

There's some obvious, disgusting, sexism at play. Both women should run. I'm also repelled by the idea Bachmann is just a seat warmer for 'Queen' Palin.

I also find the cult of personality running through Palin supporters to be alarming and destructive. Rep. Bachmann has the advantage of not having the reality tv ready train-wreck around her as well. I find that appealing because it allows focus on policy issues.

On the other hand, Palin's been a governor while Bachmann's elective experience has been only as a legislator. I don't know who the nominee will be but I think Gov. Palin will have a tougher time than her supports think if she runs.

I'm hoping ALL prospective candidates are in come the June 13th, 2011 debate in NH. It's time for Palin to stop playing coy and get in or let her supporters begin supporting other candidates.

God save us and Sarah Palin from the cult formed around her.

A cult of Liberty?

Let's just skip the debates, the causes, the primaries all together. Crown Palin queen bee right now!

No, let's include the debates, caucuses, and primaries, so Sarah can squash the competition and silence the nattering nabobs of negativism, who seem to fear her candidacy almost as much as the Left does, and who seem to be drinking the same koolaid.

Sarah Palin led the charge in the 2010 Congressional elections, and she is the most worthy and capable of leading the charge in 2012.

Very few others in the GOP can even come close. Since the nomination is hers for the taking, those who do come close to her can aspire to possibly be her running mate. Herman Cain, Allen West, or some similar Patriot would make a fine Vice President.

I pray to God that Republican voters don't settle for the likes of Romney or his ilk, as that is the surest formula for an Obama re-election in 2012.
