okay folks...what does “semi” actually mean?...

I've always known this to be a "semi" trailer. Some folks call it a "straight job".

While this is a tractor-trailer.

The top pic is just a truck. The bottom one is a semi truck (no bed/box) pulling a trailer. Or a tractor trailer.
