Sarah Palin rolling over Mitt Romney
The Boston Herald ^ | June 2, 2011 | Joe Battenfeld

Posted on 06/01/2011 10:28:27 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Her strategy of not revealing the stops on her “one nation” tour? Crazy brilliant. Who needs a campaign kickoff when you can get a week’s worth of attention hiding on a bus.

Romney, meanwhile, will be lucky to get a few hours of the spotlight with the more traditional “I’m running for president” speech today. The former Massachusetts governor has been running for years, anyway, so it’s barely even news. The only news will be how much Palin disrupts Romney’s event by coming to New Hampshire at the same time.

Palin seems to understand what other candidates don’t right now. The 2012 campaign is going to be driven mostly by Internet buzz and social media, not scripted speeches and the network news.

Palin uses Twitter to communicate. Romney uses PowerPoint. I’m pretty sure Newt Gingrich still uses a slide projector.

The former Alaska governor also isn’t afraid to mix it up with her rivals, and the dreaded mainstream media. This strategy also ensures she will dominate the race, until or unless she gets out (and I don’t think she will).

Romney is polite, sometimes to a fault. The only way you can tell he’s angry is if his hair is a little mussed. He’s so formal, he thinks taking his tie off is crazy.

It should be interesting today.

With Palin in Boston and heading for the Granite State, it’s likely she will say something about Romney, and it probably won’t be to compliment his leadership on health care.

So Mitt might as well do something unexpected, like maybe call off his speech and visit with storm victims in Massachusetts.

That would really throw off Sarah.

But long term, there is a way for Romney to overcome the obsession with Sarah: Wait it out. He’s not going to outdazzle her, so his best hope for getting nominated is to let Palin and the others mess up (and they will).

If enough Republicans get scared off by Sarah, Newt and the rest, they will turn to good old reliable Mitt.

The only way Milt gets the nomination is conservatives staying home and Democrats & lefty independents voting in our primaries.

“So Mitt might as well do something unexpected, like maybe call off his speech and visit with storm victims in Massachusetts. “

That has to be the most backhanded ‘compliment’ I have seen in years.

What kind of person does that make Romney that visiting victims is an ‘unexpected’ move?

BWAAAAAA!!!!!!

If enough Republicans get scared off by Sarah, Newt and the rest, they will turn to good old reliable Mitt.

This has got to be the first time I've ever heard of a Flip Flopper being called reliable.

When's Mitt gonna give an honest speech about Joe Smith? Serious, we need to know where planet Kolob is.

That'll put the kaibosh on ever running again.

What these idiots don’t understand is that Palin is a COMPETITOR. A competitor who of course is going to do an early summer bus tour and suck the air out from the rest of the candidates. My prediction is that Palin will announce her candidacy live at Cowboy Stadium or the National Mall either shortly after the 4th of July or on August 29th when she was introduced to the world 3 years before.

I like that advice. Just really wait it out Mitt...until 2020.

If the victims were in a gated community of mansions or at a hedge fund, maybe. But regular folks??

It is so sweet, considering what Romney’s staff did to Palin after they joined McCain’s campaign in 2008, and thereafter!

How laughable is passing off Mitt as ‘We the People’?

Old big gov’t mitt days are over - but he can run against barry on the lib ticket. Then possibly he can face SARAH face to face and his hair falls. Wuss!

I hear that Sarah can pull this off with “new media” and Mitt will rely on money. I’m sure that the answer is somewhere in between but I’m not yet sold that facebook beats money and I don’t think that Obama is going that route either.

“they will turn to good old reliable Mitt.”

****

The only thing reliable about Mittens is his intent to be President. He will say anything to get the nomination.

Sarah Palin is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN

Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama isn't!

You nailed it. She is competitive, and they forget because she is also nice. Her high school basketball coach nicknamed her “Barracuda” for a reason I suppose.

What’s with the class warfare? There’s nothing conservative about that kind of rhetoric; being successful is a good thing. The Reagans lived in gated Bel-Air or at their Santa Barbara ranch; I don’t think that made RR any less of a great or down-to-earth man.

RR was an everyman that happened to live behind a gate. MR is a political man living behind anything that gets him elected.
