An FBI forensic expert said a hair removed from the trunk of Casey Anthony's car is consistent with hair from a dead body.
That was the testimony of Karen Korsberg Lowe Saturday in Anthony's sensational murder trial.
The 25-year old Orlando mother is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.
FBI expert Lowe said she examined a light-brown, 9-inch-long hair for this case.
She said the hair was similar to one pulled from Caylee's brush and was not similar to a hair sample from Casey Anthony.
Ms Lowe also said the hair showed characteristics consistent with decomposition.
Anthony is charged with first-degree murder.
Prosecutors say the girl was suffocated after duct tape was placed over her mouth.
The defence contends she accidently drowned in her grandparents' swimming pool.
Anthony's attorney challenged Ms Lowe's qualifications as an expert in microscopic hair examinations.
Earlier, crime scene investigator Gerardo Bloise showed the court where he had found a hair in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car.
The investigator searched Anthony's car on July 17, 2008 for clues about the fate of her missing daughter. On Friday, he testified that the odour of human decomposition wafted from the interior as soon as he opened the door.
Gerardo Bloise said: 'My professional opinion is that it was human decomposition.'

If u watch Casey you see that every second she is primping her hair and making sure her clothing looks just perfect..she is the classic sociopath..I don’t believe for one second her father molested her..she said during the jailhouse tapes that he is a wonderful father/grandfather, she wouldn’t leave her baby girl with a guy who molested her..that was just a story made up by that sleazebag attorney of hers..he sure is enjoying the spotlight isn’t he, walking down the courthouse steps with that strut of his..he knows his client is gonna fry but he doesn’t care, he makes money either way and he is famous now. Casey is so used to lying she would even lie about her own name

We are supposed to believe that George Anthony is the greatest actor that has ever lived. Putting up flyers of his missing granddaughter, crying on national TV, talking about how when Caylee is found he will take her swimming(According to the defense Caylee died accidentally in the family swimming pool) while the whole time he knows she is dead..he would either have to be a cold hearted bastard or a damn good liar to be able to pull that one off
Did anything ever come of the case in Florida where the little girl disappeared from the bed next to the “father’s” too young girlfriend?

I agree with you although if you look at her this week it’s obvious that her hair is unwashed and her clothing is poor and ill-fitting. If I was her lawyer, I’d put her in glasses and sweet little dresses and suits - sorta like what they did with the kindly Menendez boys.
There is some dynamic between Casey and her mother that I find frightening. A really hostile thing going on there. I always thought the grandmother was an odd fish - going on the Today Show all glammed up while her creepy daughter sat in jail and her granddaughter was barely in the grave. I agree: the grandfather is entirely innocent as is the brother. A very strange family, though.
Oh the family is a train wreck that’s for sure..I actually think Casey killed Caylee to spite her mother..its obvious those two despise each other..and Casey has told people many times that she was jealous of Caylee for all of the attention that she received..Casey reminds me of Nicole Wallace(The character on Law and Order Criminal Intent) fits her to a T..just a sick sociopath who has no feeling for anyone but herself..that poor baby girl never had a chance
I think your talking about Hayleigh Cummings..yeah she is presumed dead..that family are full of drug dealers/addicts..the girlfriend and the father are both serving 30+ years in the pokey for drug dealing
The case is still open.
Various members of the extended family along with the girl friend herself have been arrested and charged with various crimes. Cops obviously have these people under surveillance, believing that one or more of them know something that would break the case but are covering up. Hoping to turn them against each other so somebody will talk.
No remains of the child have been found. There have been several reports that she was seen alive in other parts of the country, all followed up on but so far not leading to results.

Although all of the hair evidence is important, this was the most important piece and it likely gave the defense a very bad headache.

It must have taken her hours to get herself presentable for going out to the bars. So who would have time for a toddler?
From what I can make out, her defense team is completely incompetent. She’s found with duck tape on her mouth and nose (and don’t forget the little smiley face decals, too!) but she died from drowning. Casey was molested by her father, her brother, her mother, her aunt, her step-sister, her kissing cousin but can they at least testify in HER DEFENSE?! Meanwhile, the prosecutors are quietly, forcefully laying out all the evidence. I find this case deeply disturbing. Almost textbook of what can happen when the nuclear family goes wrong.

Anyone who listened to the recording of her interview by the police would automatically come away thinking she is a liar. It seems that she has lied constantly from the start.
But she is really smart, and really experienced at lying. She puts just enough facts into a big lie so that it sounds like the truth.
