“The Daily Show’s” 1.344 million P18-49 viewers led all late night talk shows in the demo for the month and, with a 2011 YTD average of 1.25 million P18-49 viewers, “The Daily Show” trails only “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (1.27 million P18-49 viewers) in the benchmark demographic for the calendar year crown.

Many FReepers poo-poo the very mention of the need for conservative pop culture; music, movies, TV, sports figures, video games, etc. Pop culture has been the greatest influence on Generation X and Generation.com, which have consumed a steady diet of Leftist propaganda their entire lives. Unless we get busy de-programming them, it's going to be the end of the USA.

To those who would say that life itself, and having to take adult responsibility turns young people into conservatives, I say hogwash. If that were so, there wouldn't be any Leftists over the age of 25.

Why aren't we finding a conservative counter to Jon Stewart? To Pink? To Lady Ca-Ca? To Coldplay? Why are we, as investors, pouring our money into India, Brazil and China, instead of pooling our money to buy control of Time-Warner, Comcast, Paramount, etc?

We may survive the Obammunist, but we won't survive Generation X and Generation.com, which put him there. Not unless we get busy de-programming them, that is.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

They could’ve said Pacifica Radio, MSNBC et al combined.

But that would burn too much.

True. I know I have pretty much stopped watching Fox.

You know, I must say, I love Fox! Yes, it's far from perfect, but in my mind it's the only game in town. I just keep in mind that they have to maintain some semblance of being "fair and balanced", and if that takes putting up with some guests who are far from desirable, or reporting that is a tad left of center, then so be it. I just cannot stand any other TV news outlets.

Roger Ailes should seriously revamp Fox News. Geraldo and Shep should be sacked. We are not the only ones who turn off the TV during their time slots, I’m sure. Some of the summer fill-in girls’ talents lie in their short skirts and buxom figures, rather than in their ability to read “harder words.”

I’m sure Mr. and Mrs. Liebowitz would be so proud of their (embarrassed that his last name is so Jewish) son.

How long is the Daily show on? 1 hour two hours. Fox is on all day and most of the night and people tune in and tune out. The Fox news outdraws the Dailey show by millions.

You are not just another pretty face!

smart.

Why don’t they compare Tingles show with Dancing with the Stars, makes about as much sense.

Let me break out my copy of Lies, Damned Lies & Statistics.

Apples and oranges,

To illustrate what the idiots are doing, they are comparing THE ONE apparently successful "progressive" show with the average of all shows on Fox for a 24 hour period probably including infomercials.

Not holding my breath for a direct comparison against the top Fox shows...

In fairness, why should they? Fox is the leader in cable news, and if the Daily Show is trouncing Fox, then anyone with half a brain knows that it’s trouncing all the others even more.

John Stewart beats the 24 hour average? What is the comparison in aggregate viewers?

Fox news is a cable show. Stewart is on a network show.

Untrue. Comedy Central is a cable network just like Fox. Except Fox actually has greater cable saturation.

When did we get so judgmental over stars choosing stage names that are less awkward than their real names?

Issur Danielovitch—Kirk Douglas
Marion Morrison—John Wayne
Edward Heimberger—Edward Albert
Frederick Austerlitz—Eddie Albert
Joseph Gotlieb Joey Bishop
Mel Kaminsky—Mel Brooks
Nathan Birnbaum—George Burns
Bernard Scwartz—Tony Curtis
Dino Croceti—Dean Martin

Even the conqueror of worlds, Chuck Norris was born Carlos Ray.

So is his 2.3 million the combined total of his 7 o’clock and 11 o’clock shows. But then they dont compare Stewarts ratings to O’Reilly or Hannity’s ratings and compare it to the averaged out ratings but both day and nighttime. Day time ratings will of course be lower since FNC viewers actually have jobs.

And this is why this country is on it’s last leg. I’m not convinced a GOP takeover of the WH and congress will do any good. I know it won’t do any good if rinos take charge.

I’ve seen some ratings spun before, but this article takes the cake.

They’re comparing the numbers of a HALF HOUR show with the average of the ENTIRE Fox daily and primetime line-up.

Does Comedy Central have a daily and primetime news line-up to compare? No. Game over.

As for as individual shows go... Bill O’Reilly still beats him. So Stewart is NOT the highest anything. Swish. Game over again.

Fox News has seen its better days. Who wants to watch, Krauthammer, Juan Williams, O’Reilly, Mora, Geraldo, Kristol and all? Fox is a waste of time. Cash Cab, Deadliest Catch or American Chopper are a better view.

Higher perhaps because he has now started to mock and attack The Messiah.

Doesn’t do it often, but he does do it.

I agree, too! In that time slot, a lot of people don’t even know it exists. They should run it at 11, or have 30 min of live news then run it at 11:30. It is stupid for them to have 4 hours of replays before getting to RedEye.
