Anthony Weiner’s former girlfriend, Kirsten Powers, defended him on TV to millions of people after he insisted to her that he didn’t send lewd photos on Twitter. Now she takes him to task for his rampant misogyny—and says he must resign immediately.
Anthony Weiner lied to the country about his sexual misconduct online. He also lied to me.
I had been defending him, based on what he told me, but no more. Weiner must resign from Congress immediately.
This has not been my position previously during the scandal, but as I have recovered from the shock of seeing an old friend’s life unravel and have had time to get my mind around the extensive and sociopathic lying in which he engaged, there seems to be no other choice than for him to step aside and stop hurting his family, friends, and the Democratic Party. As more information trickles out about his online behavior with women, it has also become clear that he does not have the character to be in a position of leadership because of his misogynist view of women and predatory behavior.

If there was a female equivalent of Weiner,there would not be enough money in the world to make me want to hold my nose or put a paper bag over my head. Major league character flaws in these people.

To this day, I will NEVER understand that union. For her maybe it was the cachet of thinking she found something to love in someone who was at the time one of the vilest human beings around.
I’d heard that Kirsten said that Weiner is the only man who had ever dumped her. (I think someone said that on the Imus show last week or early this week.)
Wow, good article. She makes a good point about how he would LIE and do ANYTHING to anyone to get himself out of a scandal, and this makes him a huge national security risk. He’s still lying about most things.

The press assures themselves that dems don't have to be held to the same standard as Republican office holders. I saw her defending him on TV and thought she was foolish for doing so. It was only a matter of time before the truth came out and he’d make her look like a fool.

I wondered the same thing. As a matter of fact, how many other reporterettes and lefty professionals in DC have texted with Weiner? If the dems are throwing Weiner under the bus without investigation you can bet he has some very interesting pics/texts saved on his phone/computer. I wonder if Kirsten is worried about something being revealed. Something embarrassing. Weiner surely didn’t limit his activity to strangers.
