'I'm a Marxist:' Dalai Lama

Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama said Thursday that he is a Marxist, yet credits capitalism for bringing new freedoms to the communist country that exiled him -- China.

"Still I am a Marxist," the exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader said in New York, where he arrived with an entourage of robed monks and a heavy security detail to give a series of paid public lectures.

Marxism has "moral ethics, whereas capitalism is only how to make profits," the Dalai Lama, 74, said.

However, he credited China's embrace of market economics for breaking communism's grip over the world's most populous country and forcing the ruling Communist Party to "represent all sorts of classes."

All ideology aside, the Dalai Lama just isn't very bright.

I mean, Chuck Schumer - for example - is reliably wrong about everything, but he's usually got a cleverly misleading argument for his position.

The Dalai Lama is Kathie Lee Gifford compared to Pope Benedict or Patriarch Kirill.

The Dalai sucks from others to support himself.

He is a religious hoax.

He’s a moral ignoramus, if he thinks that Marxism is an instrument of morality.

Naaa, just keep that prayer wheel spinning and everything will be OK.

Especially if the Chairman's Little Red Book is wrapped around it.

>> What interests me is this -— Why is the Dalai Lama a Marxist? Is there anything inherent in Tibetan Buddhist teaching that tells us you must be a Marxist to be a good Buddhist? >>

Probably not, but I don’t know for sure. How it “smells” to me is how the religious left smells in Christianity — which is a fake out of context use of Biblical passages in a pathetic attempt to make their case. Some know they are doing this, and some in the religious left actually believe it.

My theory is that it all stems from the ignorant notion that anything that involves the pursuit of money - like free market business - is evil because it is not pursuing the greater good. What these idiots don’t recognize is that the best way to be successful in business is to contribute to the greater good of many many customers and employees and vendors and so on.

That’s my .02. My radar is pretty good for religious lefties, but I do not read Buddhist scriptures.

Perhaps he would like to comment on the Great Leap Forward, or how Marxism breeds totalitarianism and the mass murder of political opponents by the millions.

to quote, Carl: “ A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I’m a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I’m on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he’s gonna stiff me. And I say, “Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.” And he says, “Oh, uh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.” So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice”

Marxism has IMAGINARY moral ethics, in actually it is always become depraved and immoral. Capitalism, intrinstically, out of the respect for honest books, proper contract, and faithful agency has HIGH moral ethics.

The Llama has grazed at poisoned wells.
