McQuaid’s Debate Prep [NH Union-Leader publisher]
National Review Online ^ | 06/13/2011 | Brian Bolduc

Joe McQuaid, publisher of the New Hampshire Union Leader — the widest-circulating newspaper in the state — is blunt, plainspoken, and unapologetic. Consider his take on Sarah Palin.

“I don’t think she’s in the race at all,” he tells National Review Online in a phone interview. “And considering the way she’s dealing with New Hampshire, I would tell her that’s probably good that you’re not going to be in the race, lady, because you’re not dealing with the people the way New Hampshire people like to be dealt with — which is actually to talk with them.”

I remind McQuaid that he’s previously argued New Hampshire is quirky and some candidates have won the state without ever setting foot in it: Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 and Henry Cabot Lodge in 1964, for example. “Those are the exceptions that prove the rule,” McQuaid replies. “But which one of us in this piece is going to suggest Palin is the new Eisenhower?”

McQuaid is a loser who is always wrong.

He backed (big time) Ovide Lamontagne in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate.

Palin backed Ayotte.

McQuaid ran several editorials slamming Palin’s endorsement.

Ayotte won.

He’s still a loser.

McQuaid is not to be trusted

Ayotte will stab Conservatives in the back by doing nothing as she already has done nothing. Which may actually be a good thing in the long run for all of us. Palin supported the wrong candidate in that primary.

Ayotte is a McCain supporter and campaigned in NH with Juan McPain. Those are facts, look up the neat little fund raiser, which I attended to confirm the alliance, at the Hampton Airfeild just prior to the last election.

McQuaid is an insufferably pompous Jacka$$; whose done a lot to move the UL to the ‘center’ since he became editor.

His paper is losing subscribers as he tries to attract more of the ‘lefties’ invading the state. Most of the material comes from the AP. Their coverage of local/state events is amatuerish at best. The editorials are generally pretty wishy washy and more often than not the AP article they attempt to refute are placed more prominently with more space. The UL is terrible in refuting ‘made-up’ leftist garbage, repeating the Democrat Party and enviro-kook lies long after they have been shown to be false.

Yep you are correct. McQuaid is very similar to most RINO’s and the entire Urinal Leader Staff can’t stand the TEA Party.

One thing I am concerned about it Ayotte, I do believe she will damage any conservative issue facing by playing the middle a female Juan McPain. She is using the Senate Seat for the next “higher” office. Ayotte is in their for Ayotte and no one else. I have met her on several occasions and each meeting I get the same lame canned responses from her with out any eye contact. In a way, I am amazed she won....

NR, NRA, Chamber and a host of other GOP supporters should be shamed for their love of Mitt the Flip.

Pretty "amazing", eh?.. She only won with 64% of the vote, and outperformed every candidate in every part of the state.

But you're a political wizbang. LOL!

Yep, But I guess it is the same reason Lynch a liberal demoncrat won in the same election by a wide margin too. Doesn’t say to much about Ayotte, Conservatives in NH, The Republican Party of NH or the State of NH voters either does it?

Nice try at slicing the pie to support your lame proposition. Try again skillet.

So how is Ayotte a conservative? What legistation or conservative issue has she championed or supported since the election? How many votes has she cast the matters to Conservatives in NH or the rest of the country?

Have you communicated with her office? How did that go?

Are you originally from Massachusetts or did you just attend the public schools?

I am little slow, If Palin says so, I get it you are a Palin Zealot.

Before you get your panties in a bunch, I like Gov. Palin, but I do have a healthy disdain for zealots that can not for one second think their messiah is a human being and makes mistakes.....as we all do including are you ready for this....even Sarah Palin. Settle down a notch skippy and see Ayotte for what she is, Palin endorsed or not.
