Perhaps this is the source of Liberalism?

Some people really do have a problem with their brain chemistry.
And some people really do benefit from medicine that alters brain chemistry.

That being said, a broken culture can also cause a lot of bad thinking. The UK (and America right behind it) has a rotten culture of personal irresponsibility. A lot of bad behavior is just evidence of a broken society. Those are the problem that you might be able to hide with a pill, but you can't cure with a pill.

Hyperactivity Disorder

Growing up in the early 70's, they called this "being a kid."

Giving kids drugs during their most formidable growing years w/o knowing HOW this will affect them long term is just crazy.

ADHD = acronym for precocious child (especially boys)

reason for diagnosis is that their mostly liberal teachers don't want to handle anything beyond what they think is normal behavior in a classroom.

drug the teacher not the kid

kids grow out of the behaviors as they grow up ... and

think about the fact that boys are falling behind academically

think ritalin has alot to do with it

Ritalin has become an acceptable way to deal with “unruly” kids for teachers. They suggest Ritalin way too often and parents just do what they’re told. “Teacher knows best” BS. When the teacher gets enough of the little bastards medicated, she has an easier time getting yes ma’am’s and no ma’am’s.

With drool cascading over thier chins and spirals in thier eyes the kids will do anything with relative ease.

I wouldn't have a problem with diagnosing kids with ADD/ADHD if the tests were physiological instead of psychological.
One is objective while the other is subjective.

The more proper diagnosis of ADD is a real disorder...the ADHD diagnosis was created to sell drugs.

ADHD is a list of behaviors that mostly annoy adults and teachers. The list was decided upon in a committee. There are no medical tests, no blood profile, no brain scans that can definitely be identified. Children are generally identified using the Conner’s Rating Scale which rates kids on how annoying and lack of follow through that they have. Rater reliability on the Conner’s is horrid, not to mention kids are rated by the same adults who they annoy and are ineffective with them. It is fascinating that among wards of the state ADHD identification is almost universal. Interesting that one populaton has such a high incidence rate. Couple in that parents get disability payments for their adhd “disabled” kid and does any wonder why the rise in cases?

I grew up in a middle class setting in the 1950’s and never ran into kids that needed drugs to behave. Our ancestors raised kids who were self-controlled, won wars, and advanced science without the benefit of psychiatric drugs. What has happened to this society?

ADHD.... when I was a kid in the 1970’s, that disorder was know by four other letters....BRAT. The treatment (and cure)was a big ol’ can of parental whoopass.

This is the result of the leftist, feminist agenda being taught all teachers trying to get a degree in “education.”

Since a vast majority of teachers are female and most have to have that worthless education certificate they do not understand adolescent male behavior. They are taught that any behavior other than that of females is abnormal and requires remediation.

One of the biggest problems is grade schools today is the elimination of Recess, where the boys could go out and get active. When I was in Grade School most boys played tackle football.
