Straight talk from Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps: “How dare we, then, exclude a group of people who want to do the same thing you do right now, something that is honorable and noble?”

“Get over it,” he said. “We’re magnificent, we’re going to continue to be. Let’s just move on, treat everybody with firmness, fairness, dignity, compassion and respect. Let’s be Marines.”

bit.ly The Command Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps addressed a group of Marines at a base in South Korea several key topics, including the repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy...

Luckly, the military is self correcting. If you can be counted on and trusted, your squad mates will look after you as you look after them. You chance of survival just got better. If you cannot be counted on or trusted, no one will look after you, and your chances of survival just got much worse. And this happens regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation, at least in my opinion.

How does the repeal of DADT improve the Marine Corps ability to fight its nations wars?

That's the big question. My daughter who is in the Coast Guard and I agree that it would be poetic justice for men to have to deal with sexual harassment from other men, the way we women do from men ... but it wouldn't be productive for our national defense, and that's the real point.

Seaman Anoreth has learned to apply a forceful but "accidental" blow to a sensitive spot, during two years on the cutter ;-).

Democrats finally got around to soiling our last remaining, great institution, our military.

Let's not forget (and I am not saying you did) that faggot law was passed in the lame duck democrat Congress. Only a tiny percentage of the electorate pressed for it. The rats purposely did not bring it to the floor before the election. We slipped in those weeks into an oligarchy.

Hussein said he was ready to rule from day 1. On that point, he did not lie, for we are ruled by despots and no longer governed by fellow citizens.

It is a shame that senior military personnel did not resign en masse.

The lavender mafia. They fill the ranks with fellow travelers.

The Wikileaks recruit was a homosexual who stole thousands of restricted documents and leaked them because he was “angry” (not so “gay”) over don’t ask, don’t tell. 10:1 that is why he enlisted in the first place.

Fifth columnists working within the system to take it down.

Same as the Log Cabin so-called “Republicans”.

This man was recently chosen to be the top enlisted fellow.

Gee, I wonder why.

“Yonathan Melaku [ROP adherent], Marine Reservist Detained Near Pentagon Linked to D.C. Military Building Shootings, Sources Say”

The Corps, and the entire Defense establishment, had better start thinking about what it's going to take to win a real war against a large, capable opponent (China). And it won't be done with Muzzies, Womyn, or Rump Wranglers.

Women getting hit on by men is a whole lot different than men getting hit on by sick, mentally deranged perverted creatures in men's bodies.

I think this is a great point, and as GunnyG posted above, Loyalty runs up and down the chain of command. When it doesn't you end up with disasterous consequences. But, the key word in your statement above is trust. Trusted to do or not do what? Trusted to say or not say what? In the Marine Corps I was in Trust was founded upon the Constitution of the United States, the USMC Field Manual and inside that the Marine Corps Leadership Traits and Leadership Principles.

Please show me where DADT fits into these principles. The Sergeant Major is undoubtedly a great Marine, but were I to be writing his fitness report I'd be focusing on these four:

•Loyalty
◦The quality of faithfulness to country, the Corps, the unit, to one's seniors, subordinates and peers.

•Unselfishness
◦Avoidance of providing for one's own comfort and personal advancement at the expense of others.

•Integrity
◦Uprightness of character and soundness of moral principles; includes the qualities of truthfulness and honesty.

•Courage
◦The mental quality that recognizes fear of danger or criticism, but enables a man to proceed in the face of it with calmness and firmness.

I'm not trying to presume, but DADT was successfully fought by the three previous commandants and has now been rammed down our throats. What could the senior Marine leadership - both enlisted and officer done to prevent this?

Semper Fi,

TS

Um, in all due respect Sgt. Major, if homosexuals were honorable and noble in the first place, they wouldn't be flaunting their perverted homosexuality in the second place. Sorry, I don't agree, the average homo does not want to join the service out of any sense of honor and nobility. They are NOT the same as your average STRAIGHT Marine.

He said "firmness". That's what he really meant.

Look, these guys cruise 24/7, and they can wear a general's stars or nothing at all, and they are cruising no matter what else they're talking about.

We described my army drill sergeant at Fort Polk Louisiana in 1971 as “eloquently profane”.

"Hey Smaj: No society thhat has embraced homosexuality has remained “magnificent”. "

How true, the Spartans didn't really last that long, they fought well by day, did the poop shute shuffle by night. Actually, homosexuality was a widespread pracice all over early Greece. When the Western Crusaders were allowed to ride throuh Constantiniple and saw all that man-on-man stuff, with enhanced eyeliner and makeup, those super macho men of the Western Crusade weren't even able to contain themselves of the disgust and rage they felt at the spectacle. They tore the whole damn city down and took the spoils to help fund the war againsst Islam. Notice how the Greek King, (whatever his name was), allowed the great Crusaders to travel through his land, but refused to fight with them againt the Moslems.

Idiot. He obviously cares nothing for the men and women under his command or anywhere in the military. He's worse than an idiot, he's a spokesman for sexual perversion. He's going out of his way to promote disgusting, sickening, dangerous and immoral sexual perversion. And ruining the military that he supposedly loves.

No, it is not different, but way to go with the attempted substitution of “hit on” for “harassed,” as if being asked on a date were the same as being backed into a corner and groped. That was very Chrissy Matthews of you.

Sexual aggression towards coworkers disruptive to the professional environment. In many contexts, this is just a potential loss of profit or efficiency, but in the military, it is detrimental to the nation’s defense. You’re not looking for drug-runners on watch, if you’re watching your back.

Well let’s hope the good Sgt. Major gets off his butt in Korea and is transferred to Afghanistan where he can go on patrol with a bunch of his “friends”.

Being backed into a corner and getting groped is not sexual harassment, that's sexual assault. These days sexual harassment is pretty broad so it can mean almost anything a person might THINK is harassment.

Our culture understands that it is normal for there to always be sexual attraction between the OPPOSITE sexes that might play out in any number of situations, for the most part this attraction is expected and NORMAL, not the same with perverted men and women who need to seek counseling rather than partners for their mentally deranged backwards sexual attractions.

If a woman gives me unwanted sexual offers I can handle that politely and maybe even feel complimented, with a man doing the same I might get nauseous and puke on the spot. It is just too bizarre to deal with, it's akin to being at a freak show.
