I take it you didn’t know the facts about the Romney/DeMint connection, you seem shocked, or stunned.

Other than that I couldn’t make any other sense out of your post.

...you may be confusing "reality" for "your own personal explanation for things you find to be uncomfortable."

Wow. CLASSIC case of projection.

Sad how many otherwise good conservatives forfeit self-respect just because they don't like Palin. You betray and denigrate your own self-respect when you characterize what Palin did in leaving the Alaska governorship, as "being a quitter." You know it, I know it, and every informed reader knows it.

Man, you are really emotionally vested in something in order to act so desperately to knock Palin. I wonder what it is? I wonder if you even know what it is?

Ignoring 2006, and 2007, and pretending that DeMint came to support Romney late, is not honest is it?

Merely endorsing isn’t exactly what the Senior advisor on Romney’s Exploratory committee as he signed on to in 2006, and the Romney Campaign Chairmen was doing is it?

"You're better than the type that would stoop to the false "quitter" meme"

Hey, Palin quit her bus tour. ;-)

Is he behind Romney now that everyone knows that Romney is no conservative? If you remember back in the ‘08 campaign, Romney was supposedly the conservative in the race and it was only his Mormonism that was stopping him from sweeping the nomination.

In this arena there are only two conservatives - Palin and Bachmann.

I'd sincerely add Cain to that list. The only conservative skeleton I could find in Cain's closet was his support of the TARP bailouts. It's a no-brainer for conservatives to be against the government picking winners and taking away risk. I was very disappointed in Cain's initial position on this. He has, however, publicly recanted that position -- call it a flip-flop. He said he made a mistake in his initial assessment and would not today support government bailouts. I take him at his word and have found nothing noteworthy against him since. I do believe he is a solid capital-C Conservative.

Sadly true. Us Texans should have sore noses from holding it to vote for Governor Goodhair. I hope we don’t have to hold it to vote in the presidential election. Again.

My CI (Cylinder Index) is 84 and it exceeds my age.

I'm in my second childhood and find it interesting just how many pictures of the performer(s) Perry there are on the web. I don't find Perry to have much talent. The race is on.

He just said this morning on the Glenn Beck show that he is NOT, I repeat NOT goingto run for President.

Actually he said he would run for VP, if Beck ran for POTUS.

And the truth is, there are a powerful lot of Palin supporters on here who act like anyone not supporting Palin isn't worth the cowpaddies they scrape off their shoes. I can't imagine why people might take exception to that.

Maybe you should reconsider your position, if the one you hold is uncomfortable.

Actually...we’re both right. Unfortunately Beck could not be elected nor secure the nomination. He’s mormon.

Oh ye of short memory.

This isn’t the first time you have tried to convince me of the DeMint/Romney connection - check your old posts.

You think that in 2006 DeMint had to go get the anti-gun, pro-abortion, to the left of Ted Kennedy on homosexuality, appointing 75% non-republican judges, health care, anti-Reagan and Jesse Helms, anti-Contract with America, Planned Parenthood fundraiser, Mitt Romney to run for president because he was known as a conservative?

You think that DeMint became senior advisor to his exploratory committee, and co chair of his Presidential campaign because Mitt Romney “was supposedly the conservative in the race” in 2006 and 2007, years before the election, when Mitt was still a sitting incompetent Governor that soon left office with 34% approval, and lost the seat to the Democrats?

Romney was seen as the ANTI-CONSERVATIVE, he had literally left the GOP party because of President Reagan, and for years devoted himself only to the Democrat Party and their causes, and even Democrat fund raising.

Romney and he are still close,”WashingtonPost.com Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) will appear as the special guest at a fundraiser next week to benefit South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint’s 2010 re-election”

I wouldn’t worry about DeMint if I was convinced that he was not Romney’s path to the White House.

Yet even then the way TARP was sold and the way it was deployed were two different things.

Plus, at that time you had the global financial industry in chaos so anything, and I mean anything, that would have offered calm would have been done.

Looking back now it was an awful scheme, but at that moment it was the only thing the entire world was looking for.

I missed Cain, but my focus was on Palin and Bachmann because they are near flawless individuals on this site. Prayers up!

Interesting.

More fodder for my thesis that all politicians will disappoint, sooner or later.

Representation is nice in theory, but if you really want things done your way, you have to do them yourself.
