Wondering if the gardens are still maintained. They were a reason to return, and time and again return of which my wife and I have stated multiple times we will, but haven’t yet.

Yes, the gardens are well-maintained. Now is a good time to visit, with the roses, agapanthus--aka jewels of the Nile--and yellow day lilies in bloom. Just don't come in February, when the rose bushes are being pruned.
