He will be missed, he was a true American Icon
I had just started watching Columbo on Netflix. RIP. One of my favorite shows! The first show/movie I recall seeing him is was Mad Mad World, where he was one of the cab drivers.
He had been one of the very last surviving cast members from “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.
Mickey Rooney,Johnathon Winters and Jerry Lewis with his 2 second cameo.
Rest in Peace Mr. Falk.
R.I.P.....
Lieutenant Columbo was a great character in my opinion.
RIP. He had Alzheimer’s for many years.
Farewell, O great rumpled sleuth.
RIP Inspector!
Oh, and just one more question.....
I had read that he wasn’t well, had had a stroke or something. I am a huge Columbo fan (Princess Bride too!) Recently watched Falk in Murder Inc playing a bad guy. Very charming talent. RIP Lt. Columbo!
Ah, nuts. Well, he certainly leaves a tremendous volume of work behind with some of the best moments on TV and and film.
This expression and thought bubble exemplifies him:
“Do we have to hear the kissing part?”
“Someday you may not mind so much.”
I have both films on the rack so I'll be watching one tonight.
Adios Colombo!
RIP Peter. We’ll miss you.
I remember him in that movie too. I think the next one I remember seeing him in was “The Great Race” with Tony Curtis, Jack Lemon, and Natilie Woods.
Very sorry to hear that. He made a movie called Roommates here in Pittsburgh about fifteen years ago. Highly underrated.
St Peter meets him at the gates and lets him enter. As he steps through, he stops and turns to St Peter and says you know my wife likes iron gates , oh and one more thing.
He was proffesor Fate’s sidekick in “The Great Race”.
He was good also in Penelope with Natalie Wood.....
