Speak for yourself, pal.
I guarantee you, I would be gushing over a "Sam Palin" Costanza look-alike if his political accomplishments, postitions, and acumen were the same as Sarah Palin's.
And I guarantee you that I would have a lot of company, right here on Free Republic.
Here's the deal, Skippy. The most handsome man or gorgeous woman becomes genuinely, physically ugly in the eyes of people who know the individual to be a vile, mean, lying, manipulative creep. I have seen it in others and experienced it in myself enough to know this for sure.
A person who looked like Costanza, and who had led the adventurous Alaskan life (hunting, commercial fishing, etc.) that Palin has, would very likely seem handsome because good looks are as much a part of one's bearing and confidence as one's bone structure.
With sadness, in part because I am a woman, I will say that a guy like Steve Forbes would WIN if women didn't have the vote; a guy like Clinton WON because women did.
Same here. My support for Palin has absolutely nothing to do with her appearance or gender. As Martin Luther King said; judge people by the content of their character. Outward appearances are a non-issue with me. What Palin brings to the scene is exactly what Washington DC culture of corruption is missing and she is willing to do something about it. While the other contenders may not be in the corrupt category, they surely are trapped by that system.
