Pray tell, how can they finish “ homework” a day or two in advance of it being assigned??? Homework is generally assigned daily to reinforce the days instructions. Projects and papers and research assignments are given well in advance of a due date to allow time for thought.
I know in some public schools, home work is "assigned" for a week after complaints daily homework assignments interfered with kid's active sedentary lifestyles.
Most homework is assigned at the beginning of the school week, and is due by Thursday or Friday. That's for the weekly assignments. More long term assignments such as book reports or projects are assigned weeks in advance of the due date. This was true when I was in k-12 schools, it was true when my children were in k-12 schools, and it has been true for my granchild who is entering 7th grade in August. It has also been true in the 4 school districts that I have worked for over the past 15 years.
