Let's hear it for prejudice

"The opponents (of same-sex marriage) have no case other than ignorance and misconception and prejudice."

So writes Richard Cohen in his celebratory column about Gov. Andrew Cuomo's role in legalizing gay marriage in New York state.

Now, given that no nation in 20 centuries of Christendom legalized homosexual marriage and, in this century, majorities in all 31 states where it has been on the ballot have rejected it, Cohen is pretty much saying that, since the time of Christ, Western history has been an endless Dark Age dominated by moral ignoramuses and bigots.

For the belief that homosexuality is unnatural and immoral and same-sex marriage an Orwellian absurdity has always been part of the moral code of Christianity. Gen. George Washington ordered active homosexuals drummed out of his army. Thomas Jefferson equated homosexuality with rape. Not until 2003 did the Supreme Court declare homosexual acts a protected right.

What is the moral basis of the argument that homosexuality is normal, natural and healthy? In recent years, it has been associated with high levels of AIDS and enteric diseases, and from obits in gay newspapers, early death. Where is the successful society where homosexual marriage was normal?

Pat Buchanan, right once again.

It’s time for conservatives to quit being cowed by words such as “prejudice”, “nativist”, “xenophobe”, “intolerant”, “homophobe”, and — yes — even “racist”.

These terms (and others I can’t think of at the moment) are little more than “silence stones” that leftists toss at conservatives in an attempt to shut them up. We must be silent no longer.

It is our blind quest for an “egalitarian” society that is destroying us.

Jefferson’s famous line in the Declaration was a noble dream. But as noble as it was, it was — and remains — little more than “a dream”.

As has been said before here on FR:
Free men are NOT equal.
Equal men are NOT free.

Just sayin’....

The immediate reply to all name calling should be: Sticks and stone will break my bones but names will never hurt me - now, lets get back to the issue.

If they didn’t call us names,
they might have to actually intellectually defend their promotion of the normalization of one man’s desire to put his p3nis in another man’s 4nus.

My answer to Cuomo is this: God has nothing against interracial marriages but He does have something against same sex marriages. Interracial marriages and same sex marriages are like comparing apples and oranges. They are not the same.

I would also say to Cuomo, “You have better start fearing God!”

Why do we, who oppose Gay marriage, have to be tolerant of this practice, but those who support it, don’t have to have any understatnding of why we oppose it?

The left has successfully removed all worldly legitimacy from religious beliefs.

They simply dismiss such opposition as inconsequential and not worthy of discussion.

Because they can yell louder.

Homosexualism is an un-natural perversion and there is no way to rationalize it as anything else.

If nature had placed Adam and Evan in the garden instead of Adam and Eve, end of story.

They couldnt reproduce and there wouldn’t be any children by heterosexual coulples for them to adopt either.

I would like to know in all human history, what culture has openly supported the practice of homosexuality? I mean to the point it was very normal, very open, thriving, was the norm and lasted for decades if not centuries. Any African cultures? Any Arab cultures? Chinese? Japanese? Indian? South American? ect....
