This is misdirection. Reagan’s official announcement was then, but Reagan was laying the groundwork for years prior, and nomination races have moved earlier since then.
She could wait that long, but there are a hot of reasons why it would make her less viable.

She’s been laying the groundwork as well. And Reagan didn’t have 3 million Facebook fans ready to go the moment she announces.
There are advantages to her waiting. She does need to time things right, but the time is not... quite... yet.
And I don’t say that she’s finalized the decision. But... I do believe she’s going to run.
