Cops are held to a higher standard and that translates to punishment for proven wrong doing as well. If a cop around here gets convicted of DWI, they are fired. Can you say the same for doctors, lawyers, bankers? No.

The thing around here is that you have certain freepers who post daily articles about alleged bad cops. So people think it's an epidemic. But you never read articles about the millions of positive daily interactions between cops and the public.

Like I said, medical negligence KILLS people on a daily basis, but we accept that because we are sure that docs are trying to do the right thing. We just don't give the same lee-way to police officers.

No, you seldom read articles about the wonderful things all kinds of people do every day. How many “Aw sh*ts” does in take to ruin 100 “Attaboys”? Only one the last time I checked.

Doctors get sue all the time they are not free to do what ever they want. They end up paying all the time, both in money and loss of license.

Look at many of these police shootings and you will see nothing happen to the police. Every once in a while one will be fired but otherwise they get away scot free, no personel responsibilty, the taxpayers pay.
