Five times, women, girlfriends and his own mother went to court to seek personal protection orders after violent outbursts that included assault, destruction of property and obscenity-laced threats.

Now the big excuse is he was “bipolar”.

Actually it's more about discernment. They lacked it. They and their families paid the price for it. Had the same situation surface in my own family, complete with brutal disfiguring spousal abuse. I had to forcefully intervene with direct threat of deadly force. Problem immediately solved, only to resurface one year later, as the family member found herself yet another dirt bag just as worthless and abusive as the first. Lesson learned: some folks are too stupid to save. You lay down with dogs. You get up with fleas.
