So you support small government on domestic issues and big government on foreign policy issues?

A rhetorical question from a Paulite?

EU:

1. I am fine with whatever is necessary to enforce this nation's will in foreign/military policy, particularly via the use of military force: quick, simple, devastating and fully paid for by the wealth and income of the vanquished enemy.

2. I am not fine with Lilliputian restraints on the use of US military power from fanciful nonsense about the idol words "declaration of war" (Congressional joint resolutions authorizing war will suffice until we formally abrogate the UN Treaty which purports to "outlaw" war to NATO busybodies, to UN busybodies, to START treaties, to ANY other treaties, to informal "gentlemen's agreements," to the application of the Geneva Accords (if they must really continue to exist) to non-signatories who act against us as terrorists or as make-believe military or whatever.

3. Money need not be expended wastefully in any function of government but money is not some sort of overriding god to be worshiped at all costs by any who call themselves conservative. Tight budgeting is, however, a nice to have, not an absolute need to have compared with more important issues such as: not being bullied by international thugs; putting a stop (nationally if possible) to the "Roe vs. Wade" created right to slaughter the innocent unborn children; putting a stop (nationally if possible) to the imposition of rump ranging or fudgepacking (and all female equivalents) upon our society as though it were somehow "marriage;" Second Amendment rights to Keep and Bear Arms, concealed, open or however one darn well pleases; and other essential rights.

4. Not one nickel to bail out any commercial institution, any private sector union, absolutely any public sector union, any state, and county government, any municipal government. Amend the constitution to apply the 14th Amendment language prohibiting federal payment of Confederate war debts to each and every one of these. Nothing and NO ONE is "too big to fail."

5. "Useless wars" are, by definition, well, useless. They ought not to be engaged in although I suspect that your definition of "useless wars" and mine would differ greatly since I am an actual conservative and you seem likely to be a paleowhatever. Just because El Run Paulie serves in Congress (thank God he will soon be gone along with his looney tune caricature of conservatism and his antiwar leftist college zombies) and just because Pat Buchanan has substantially lost his mind on foreign policy and military matters, does not mean that sensible conservatives will emulate either of them.

6. Puhleeze!!! Do not waste time or breath referencing the 10th Amendment like that Galveston liar you admire to defend against federal attacks on the babies and on marriage. We are way too far down the road to judicial totalitarianism on such subjects to continue fighting with both hands behind our backs, both ankles chained together and slamming our jaws against the fedjudicial fist.

7. In marriage, a lot of guys have settled for less than that good pair, but I seem to recall adding (for worthwhile female candidates of which we have at least two) a wide array of other qualities, physical, moral and intellectual (that is to say NON-paleowhatever). You brought up "a great body," so don't whine when others continue your imagery and add to it.

8. It is more than about time that the paleopipsqueak of Galveston took his essentially treasonous and utterly insane self out of politics and Congress once and for all. Maybe Galveston can find an American to elect. It certainly had more of an obligation to America than to elect El Run Paulie, comparable only to Weepy Walter Jones of NC in the GOP caucus and to Dennis Cuckoocinich and former Congresscritter Cynthia McKinney on the Demotraitor side.

9. Your 76-year old boy is a libertarian and certainly NOT a conservative. Good riddance to him. That will do for now. There is plenty more where that came from if you choose to prolong your defense of the sorry little treasonweasel.

In any event, this announcement caught everyone off guard.

Here is a list of Republican state legislators in the area.

Yeah, yeah. Yuck it up FReepers.

If it wasn't for Dr. Paul, there'd be no Tea Party movement in this country.

"Mad as a hatter" is a colloquial phrase used in conversation to refer to a crazy person. In 18th and 19th century England mercury was used in the production of felt, which was used in the manufacturing of hats common of the time. People who worked in these hat factories were exposed daily to trace amounts of the metal, which accumulated within their bodies over time, causing some workers to develop dementia caused by mercury poisoning. Thus the phrase "Mad as a Hatter" became popular as a way to refer to someone who was perceived as insane.

I wonder if redistricting has anything to do with his decision. The new districts as proposed are definitely different if the AG approves them.

I don’t know if I’m a “Paulite.” I support a number of politicians. But it makes no sense at all to me that some conservatives support limited government here at home, but then they support the liberal intervention in Libya and other places.

Now I understand why Ron Paul isn't seeking re-election...Texas Republicans stripped Ron Paul of most of his district. Ron Paul's district has lost these counties: Wharton, Jackson, Matagorda, Calhoun, Victoria, Aransas and Chambers. He now has Brazoria, Galveston, and and gained Jefferson.

Blake Farenthold district 27, the new kid on the block, has picked all those counties to the south. Chambers county is part of the new district 36.

So it appears that the Republicans in Texas wanted to get rid of the nutter Ron Paul [who hardly ever voted with fellow republicans and never could be counted on.] and have given Farenthold a larger district...to try an ensure his re-election.

Really? I call BS! Thank you Rick Santelli, not Ron Paul...you can't rewrite history!

I do not agree with Ron Paul on his ignorant foreign policy, but I agree with him on economics. On the Tea Party, it was not Rick Santelli who organized it. It is a huge exaggeration to give one television anchor's call the credit. The townhall protests and the Tea Party Movement were both well organized protests by those who typically cared about only one issue - the economy.

Let me say that I am not supporting Ron Paul or his supporters. I just want to acknowledge that his supporters were the ones who were out on the streets. I am very nervous to see those who pushed for legislating subsidies for ethanol claim the Tea Party mantle.

I figured you did since you said that you completely disagree with Ron Paul’s foreign policy views.

Everyone here claims they want sound fiscal policy and smaller more constitutional government.

Then when some fellow actually proposes to do this they all call him a nut.

Maybe if he was a women with a great body they would go for it.

Ouch!!! That's gonna leave a mark!

Ouch!!! That's gonna leave a mark!

More like achey sides from laughing.

It's not like we're talking about anything serious here. We're just enjoying some comic relief. That's pretty much the role Ron Paul and his supporters play in these primary seasons.

“It is a FACT that pot is a gateway drug.”

It's no more of a gateway drug than Alcohol or Tobacco. People make their own decisions and “drugs” don't make people take them anymore than guns make people commit murder.
