Negotiations are underway to transfer ownership of the main Kennedy home in coming months to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate, a proposal that has raised concerns among family members who live on adjacent property, according to two associates close to the family who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The senator, who died in August 2009, had stated in his will that he ultimately wanted the property to be turned over to the institute, which is now being built next to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library at Columbia Point. He gave the rights to the house to his widow, Vicki, and his three children, and they are expected to relinquish them very soon, according to the family associates.

This is a joke. The Kennedys know that this will save them $53,000 a year in Property Taxes and they can still use the place.
Maybe they should put up a couple of red lights at the entrance and rent it out by the hour. That would honor the legacy of the family.
They should use the place as a transitional living center for drug and alcohol addicted parolees.

One of Uncle Teddy’s last wishes was that Caroline become a Senator, so that there would still be a Kennedy in the Senate after his own passing. The Kennedy family certainly has arrogance and a sense of entitlement.
I haven’t heard the raspy voice RFK Jr. lecture us about global warming recently. What a relief that is.

I think there are real tensions among the Kennedys. Ethel and Robert’s kids have no real money, whereas the rest of the offspring do. Kerry Kennedy, one of Ethel’s kids, is a jerk and a loser. She married Andrew Cuomo for political reasons, then jettisoned him when it didn’t look as if he was going anywhere in politics. (Who’s sorry now, Kerry?) Anyway, Kerry and her siblings inherited a paltry million dollars a piece from the Kennedys, which, when you want to live like a celebrity, is about one hundred dollars to normal people. It must drive them nuts that: Ted left real money to his kids (and stepkids); Sargent Shriver made sure his five had some dough (plus, Maria married the Terminator); Caroline Kennedy has Jackie O’s money, etc. For Kennedys, Ethel’s kids are POOR and they want to use the “sainted†memory of RFK to shore up their finances.
The Kennedy clan are rapidly depleting the money that Old Joe Kennedy assembled through his dirty dealings. FRK (Fat Rich Kid), aka Teddy, was the last Kennedy to really keep what was left of the estate together, and it still hemorrhaged.
The last big influx of cash was in 1998, with the sale of Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, “the world’s largest commercial structure,” for $600 million. But the proceeds of the sale were immediately split, instead of kept in the central fund for gradual disbursement.
Teddy Kennedy and his sisters, Eunice, Patricia, and Jean, each got $75 million. JFK’s children, Caroline and John Jr., each got $37.5 million, and Bobby’s widow, Ethel, and her 11 children divvied up $75 million.
This matters, because the larger the pool of money, the more it can be protected, enlarged and enhanced. As it is, and given the Kennedy clan’s spendthrift and self-destructive behavior, little of their wealth can expect to remain after one or two more generations of spawn.
Raspy?! Don’t you mean lachrymose? In my political fantasy, Lieberman/RFK challenge 0bama/Biden and win to then lose to the Republicans simply because Americans can’t bear that whining in content and vocals.
