Lefties Giddily Ask: 'Could We Soon See A World Without Fox News?'

Vyan at Daily Kos is getting giddy in a post headlined “Could we soon see a world without Fox News?” It's apparently all over for FNC: "In less than a week the News of the World Wiretapping and Bribery Scandal has quickly metastasized into a Multi-Headed Dragon of Death for Murdoch Empire and simply lopping off one head, doesn't seem to be enough - the infection has already spread."

Now that Fox-hating liberal interest groups, bloggers, and Democrat politicians are vowing to investigate, the Kosmonauts think Murdoch's "criminal enterprise" is about to collapse:

With the current head of the Murdoch's Wall Street Journal caught directly in this scandal - it won't be long before they start shedding those assets as well, and yes, Fox News too - as it's been obvious for a long time they are a Criminal Enterprise just like the rest of his media empire. Possibly one of the worst since Murdoch didn't buy them as an existing enterprise - He built it from the Ground Up, which means the rot has always been part of it's core.

The topic also came up on Tuesday's Thom Hartmann show, where a Washington liberal had to tell Hartmann to calm down with the Mafia metaphors for Murdoch Incorporated:

I understand your angst.

It makes you feel better to blame someone else for the fact that you are unable to write above a third grade level.

Personally, I’m impressed that you can “write” at all.

Surely that “ability” represents many hours of work by tutors,
social workers and kind hearted trustees. I applaud them all.

I hope you keep trying.

Don’t let today’s failures slow you down.

Gosh, it would be so much simpler if they just up and moved to Cuba.

and then FOX started restricting him from doing it.

Do you know for a fact they restricted him?

Just curious. I know Beck was sorely disappointed that when he reported the facts none of the news picked up the stories, unless it was Bloviator claiming he broke the story.

I know there was bad blood between Beck and Hannity such that Beck was never mentioned by Hannity, and I heard Levin complain about how Hannity was being squeezed over it.

I thought it was telling that they let Beck do his final show live, showed that there was no great rift or any mistrust between Beck and Roger.

I don’t think there was a great rift between Beck and Ailes. He said they ended the partnership with a handshake. In fact Glenn still intends to do occasional specials for FNC like Stossel does.

FOX was taking a great deal of heat from the left (and some whiney asses on the right) over Beck and his show was rather subdued in the last few months.

The News of the World had a circulation of nearly 10 million in the UK, which is more than the Daily Mail and the Telegraph (popular sources here). However, it has already been shown that it wasn’t Just NOW journalists who were involved in hacking, these practices seem to have been commonplace throughout News International...

no angst on my part- just laughing at a troll that does nothing but waste bandwidth by “correcting” grammar on an internet forum because they can't address the topic at hand....

its the majority of your posts- that is when you're not banned/suspended as your Freep page indicates...but hey- continue to bloviate away- you're good at that...

You know, I don’t agree with Daily Kos or DU, but I would never want a world where they could be shut down. That’s a tyranny, and it is the vilest of governments.

The Left's agenda depends on there being no mainstream source of news which contradicts their assertions, or exposes embarrassing facts. That's what makes them nuts over Fox.

They can dream, but the fact remains that ship has sailed. They will never have a complete monopoly on news like they once did. There is a reason Fox has topped all of the other cable news networks (and MSM) in ratings. Ratings for what used to be the only source for news are abysmal. That won’t change. The market demands fair and balanced. That’s not going anywhere either.

Leftists know their worldview is diminishing with every creaky hippie who enters the old folks home. So they imagine great “victories” just to keep from wailing in despair.

GBTV glenn beck tv! He promises to show videos and show the stories that other US media refuse to show or tell! If he follows thru, I think he’ll turn the US/liberal media complex over on its head!

A world without Fox News? Sure, geeks. Just click your heels together three times and recite "there's no place like home..."

I’d say Murdoch is key to that, wouldn’t you?

He has already shut down News of the World and backed out of acquiring control of Sky News.

Who can tell what plans the old geezer has for his US assets?

If you ask me, the Regime has Fox running scared. In the last couple years it has turned into RINO City with a strong lefty strain as well.

We need a REAL conservative network!

What’s the need for that? There is a strong chance of the Union of Soviet Socialist States of America being established if O’Bummer wins next year. Nothing will hold him back then and all those lefty crybabies will be prime candidates for media commisars.
