A convicted felon who’s been added to the witness list by the defense in the Casey Anthony murder trial held a press conference late Monday morning outside of the Orange County courthouse.
“I have no idea who George Anthony is. I just met him, seen him on TV,” said Vasco Thompson, who was convicted of kidnapping. His attorney says it was a domestic situation.
Thompson told the press that he doesn’t know why he was brought into this case.
On Wednesday, the defense requested to depose Thompson. They claim he called George Anthony four times the day before Caylee was reported missing. George’s attorney says he has no connection to Thompson.
“I didn’t have that phone number until February of 2009, and I don’t know why they got me involved in all of this mess,” Thompson said.
He said if there were any calls between George Anthony and that number in 2008, it wasn’t him.
