Never found out if any of that POW story is true, even not involving Fonda. Only interaction our POWs had with our leftists I remember reading about came from one of the first books after Vietnam written by A POW ( not sure of the author's name ). He said that the Viets had a “reception” and some American anti war people were there along with our POWs. He never mentioned Fonda. He said that there wasn't any interaction with them but did point out that the Vietnamese in attendance who werent running the thing seemed disgusted with our hippies.
Not sure if it was the same book but a POW wrote that during interrogations the Viets would play a tape denouncing the war made by a US Navy Lieutenant. He never gave the turncoat's name. I was in JROTC at the time and some of my fellow ROTC students read the same book and were upset that one of our guys was traitor. This was around 1977. They took it the mater up with our ROTC instructors and they assured us that it was like I first thought. The Viets made it up and not one of our men was a traitor. Never thought about that story again for decades until John Kerry appeared on the scene. That was him on the tape.
Check out snopes.com, the note-passing story is not true. She posed for the AAA picture, she made ten Tokyo Rose broadcasts from Hanoi and she made speeches and gave interviews on her return denouncing the war effort. But that’s the one accusation of which she is innocent.

I actually attended an intimate conservative gathering in which one of the Hanoi Hilton POW’s was the guest speaker (eight years ago, I forget the name) he actually said a number of them broke under the strain and turned their coats to get special treatment. After their conditions changed after the Linebacker II (”Christmas”) bombings, when it became obvious they were soon to be released about three of them were allowed back into the fold. He said that two others came home with them and remain unrepentant traitors to this day. He said that they all vowed not to discuss any names and to this day they remain unknown.
I got this from the horse’s mouth, though I’m sure some dedicated detective work could ferret this out.

That’s a distinct possibility. The worst extreme leftys and terrorists tend to be guilty silver-spoon types who feel the need to prove they’re down with the struggle for the Wretched of the Earth to make up for being born wealthy.
Jane’s most memorable quote is when she asked one of her fellow travelers what was correct opinion she should have on a particular issue. Being that she was too dumb to figure it out.

I have this book; I knew the authors. They went to the Air Force archives to see and hear the transcripts and tapes by Jane Fonda in the enemy country during time of war intended to demoralize our forces.
They present a literal and legal indictment of treason.

She never hurt our country. Comrade O is a Christian, an American and a patriot. Spineless McConnell and slithering Boehner are “Republican leaders.” The Lame Stream Media is fair and balanced. The sky will fall unless we sharply increase Comrade O’s allowance. That’s the ticket.
Yes he was a patriot. He joined the Navy in ‘42. WWII guys that served knew 1st hand what danger Fascism and Communism represented.
Henry Fonda was hardly a leftie commie lover. Quite the opposite. He refused to speak to her for decades because of her anti- American activities.
