This is like some bad joke, in your gut, in your heart, you think that this is the break out for Paul? He can’t win anything outside of his Congressional district, but this time, at age 77, he is going to become President of the United States?

You think this is the big one, after a quarter century of trying, with nothing to show for it except a great lifestyle, and several asterisks, 77 year old Congressman Paul becomes the 1980 President Reagan and starts his 8 year reign, in the same year that he is retiring?

If Perry were somehow to stumble into the General Election because of the Open Primaries on the GOP side, then he would fumble badly in the General Election as the conservative GOP base and small 'l' libertarians and those concerned about Illegal Immigration would desert him.

So, you'd take your ball and go and let Obama win? How pathetic is that?

"Wake up Christians; stop being fooled by these corrupt politicians like Rick Perry."

Notice how Perry's lackeys are all over the place spreading his claims of being a Christian. The "story" does not show that he's accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. There is nothing in his own words of his conversion and being born again. He just agreed with a "statement" somebody else made.

Also, notice how he cloaks himself in Christian terminology. The story is out that he feels "called" to be President. Maybe his mama or his wife "called" him to be President, but not God. Phony!!

We are going to see.

I’ll bet she surprises everyone and wins in a landslide.

Frankly, I don’t think Independents will get motivated to vote for Rick Perry.

Why on earth not give Perry's economic record compared to Obama's nationally?

You saw how bad it was to restrain her in '08.

I don't even know what that means, what does it mean?

Speaking generally, since Perry has not declared for the run for President, we all just don’t know.
Certainly, any conservative will be terribly trashed by the media.
You are correct in saying that supporters of Palin (now) will do anything to vote for Palin.
Regarding changing peoples mind about Palin, just don’t know. It is so early in the process- must wait- like Palin is doing.

Nobody “handles” Palin, even people that support Perry, Bachmann, Cain, or whoever, will agree that no one “handles” Palin.

They may or not like her, they may even call it a problem, but they know that more than anyone, Palin runs her own show.

I love her, follow her and admire her but there is no way I want her to run for President.

There is no way I'll vote for anyone else.

Your post concerned me, so I looked up the word “funky”. You had me concerned that the word may have had some foul meaning that I wasn’t aware of.

Well, I didn’t find much.

“Having a strong, offensive, unwashed odor.” seems to fit the PDSers as far as I’m concerned. Literally, no.... but that is how I see their thinking, actions and attitude.

So ansel112, I won’t be asking for it to be removed.

Thanks for the mild response, I thought that it had a double meaning, maybe it was just me hearing it wrong.

She has been thrashed too much to be taken as a serious national candidate.

Hardly! I’d guess you and Sarah are not made of the same personality traits,Sarah stands up and defends that which she believes with all her heart and soul. Are you willing to fight with all your heart and soul for what you believe in?

Wrong question. They wont both be running for the nomination.

The right question is
“Who can beat Obama?”

I'm not going to insult you; however, since Paul hasn't EVER won a single state in any presidential primary he has run in, he isn't capable of "helping" Palin win any at all. He is so unpopular with most people, he would be a drag on her and I doubt that she would even ever consider taking on a 77 year old, anti-Israel ( when she is SO pro-Israel !),pro-legalizing drugs, benighted elf, under any circumstances.

You've got to get over your delusions and face reality squarely in the face! You love Ron Paul; most people don't! And your foolish claims about him are just beyond reason.

I agree. Palin may have a shot at the nomination, but if our side really wants to beat Obully, Perry’s got to be the nominee.

My target isn't Obama, defeating him is a given. I want to see the entire political establishment defeated. Sarah Palin is the ONLY prospect we have that is capable of accomplishing that task. Her and the tea party folks across the country. I have a feeling that there are quite a number of FReepers who aren't on board with the tea party revolution. I don't believe they understand the problem nor the solutions.
