Florida Reps. Allen West, Debbie Wasserman Schultz Clash

A long-stranding clash between South Florida House members Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Allen West turned to insults on Tuesday after an exchange of speeches on a debt-reduction bill.

Wasserman Schultz chastised West on the House floor for supporting a bill that would cut Medicare and other spending.

"The gentleman from Florida, who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries -- unbelievable from a member from South Florida," said Wasserman Schultz, a Democrat.

West, a Republican from Plantation who lives in Wasserman Schultz's district, responded with an e-mail to her and House leaders: "Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige.

“How can she be a sitting congress critter and head of DNC at the same time?”

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Her position as DNC Chair needs to become a part of every counterattack. Her dual role as a congressman and Chairman of the Democratic National Committee needs to be exposed, and hammered on, because there is clear conflict and it is clearly inappropriate for a sitting congressman to hold both positions. She cannot be allowed to use her position as congressman, whose salary is paid by the taxpayers of every district in the United States, to launch a political attack as chairman of the DNC, from the floor of the House. She must resign one office or the other.

Meantime, West’s Democratic challengers, Lois Frankel and Patrick Murphy, jumped on his words. “Enough is enough. His conduct is unbecoming a member of Congress. He has disrespected his office and should be censured by the House of Representatives immediately.”

He does not live in her district. Both are from Broward County. The way districts are divided even on same zip code are split between them. I just wish that the Republicans would learn to conclude every statement they utter with the words, “the Democrats are clearly taking food from the mouth of children, the elderly and the poor by spending America into poverty. I’m so tired of hearing the dims closing their every comment with “On the backs of the elderly, children and women.” Sadly it seems to work. So why don’t we try it?

Allen West have been suffering her actions for a while, even in the last election she organized a protest against him. Her conduct before as a woman was despicable, as a democrat was un-ethical when both were running for office on two close but different districts. As an ultra left wing , socialist or liberal Schultz and her offices are lying. Allen West actions in life are admirable as a Congressman he is not afraid to tell the truth. To use scare tactics against West for older and retire people are not useful anymore since we the people are awake, even in her district like me. I'm on Social Security, I'm on Medicare, I do believe in the philosophy of members of Congress not in the party they belong, so I'm with Allen West. Liberals are using Schultz to raise money not only against a good conservative man, but also to re-elect the Usurper when she mailed a fake birth certificate of Obama.
