“It said there were net $1T tax increases. Phone answerer said there were no tax increases. Told her she needed to check this and his appearance on Fox this morning. Also told her there weren’t real cuts, it was restraint in rate of growth. The people of GA are awake and they are not going to stand for this.”

It’s tricky because there are no real cuts, there are promises of cuts and the plan is to make the Senate committees come up with the cuts. Those committee are (drum roll please) RUN BY DEMOCRATS. The chance that this will in any way work out well for conservatives is slim to none.

The tax changes are tempting but IMHO that’s the point. It’s a trap to get Republicans enticed enough to sign up for a typical DC cr*p sandwich.

RINOs like Chambliss love this stuff because they want to make ‘progress’.

Please. Defeat Obama, then we can make progress.

So tired of the same-ol-same-ol. Last election cycle we were told if we didn’t elect Chamblis the dims would take over. He was the only one that stood between ‘us’ and a 60 vote dim senate. FOOEY!

“The last one I heard was he wanted to get rid of the home mortgage deduction on our taxes. This just about caused the room to explode when that was mentioned. “

Actually, that is in the gang of 6 plan I believe.
I would not mind if they take that if they would also just cut my tax rates. But it looks to be another way to get more money for the Fed govt.

Had to leave a message. Told him I didn't want MY Senator to be a GANG MEMBER of any sort, and that "reaching across the aisle" to liberal democrats who want to destroy our economy cannot be tolerated by CONSERVATIVE Georgians. I said it is apparent the Senator has lost his way, and will lose his job if he continues down this path.

Typical POS politician.

Obama passes no bills nor approves any spending. The legislature is what is killing our Country, Obama can do nothing without them. It is MUCH more important for us to get rid of the crazed Democrats and weak, effete, Republican elite that infest our legislature.

“This will be remember in 2014.”

I did just happen to mention that in the e-mail I sent yesterday. Do you think he cares? Of course not.

Assuming that they do not retire they should stand for re-election as follows:

Chambliss 2014

Isakson 2016

I just sent him this email:

Senator Chambliss,

It is with extreme disappointment that I learn of your sponsorship of a Senate bill that will essentially do nothing to address the crisis we are currently in. This nation cannot afford to continue on with business as usual. The survival of our country depends on taking action now, lest we descend in to the abyss of insolvency.

Our nation has accumulated more debt in the last two years than it did in the first two centuries of its existence. This trend must be stopped NOW! Vacant promises of budget cuts in future years that will never materialize are an insult to the American people. At our current rate of spending, we are facing a debt of $30 trillion by the end of this decade. Your insulting offer to reduce that amount to $26 trillion is a lose-lose situation. 'Lose' for the American people who will be saddled with this debt. And 'lose' for you and all of your Republican colleagues in the next two election cycles.

The only prudent course of action at this point is to STOP SPENDING NOW! That is something that every American family understands. Why does this most basic economic principle baffle you? In the last election, you pretended to be a conservative. How long will we have to wait before you being acting like one?

I implore you to address the current crisis first. Let's cut the deficit now rather than lie about cutting it ten years down the road.

Sincerely,

H

If you have the time, give him a call and share your sentiments. The office needs to hear your physical voice.

Thanks again!!

Hannity just said that Chambliss office in DC yelled at Alicia(his producer). He refuses to come on his show and tell the voters why he supports the “Gang of Six”.

“Obama passes no bills nor approves any spending. “

You’ve been missing out on a lot of Rose Garden signing ceremonies. They dont call it “Obamacare” for nothing.

“The legislature is what is killing our Country, Obama can do nothing without them.”

True, 4 years under Democrats in Congress have passed a lot of bad bills, signed by Obama, but WE cannot repeal Obamacare while he is in the White House. He will veto any rollback of his Big Government agenda.

Sure we can, just take over congress. If we don't, the Senate will just fillibuster conservative bills and the fact that Obama is out won't matter.

BTW, they can call it what they want but it is clearly Pelosicare. Obama didn't have a clue as to what was being drafted.

“Sure we can, just take over congress.”

OK, which ALSO cant happen until Nov 2012.
We have Harry Reid stinkin up the joint and NOT passing any conservative House bills.

Lets just agree that defeating Obama and winning the Senate are BOTH important in 2012.

i just called- on my way back from the gym this morning CBS News Radio here in NY was talking about the gang of six plan and how it eliminates tax deductions for mortgages and retirement plans....

i was calm when i called and left a message at Chamblis’ office- i told him i am a middle class wage earner who works six, sometimes seven days a week, i pay my pills on time, pay my taxes and live within my means (all true)... i told him if it is true that, as a responsible person and an American who pays his taxes, takes responsibility for himself and his family, and saves a little money for my retirement- these deductions will be eliminated in his plan while the welfare slugs who contribute nothing economically to this nation continue to receive their handouts in the form of medicaid and welfare, i will travel to Georgia to campaign against him....

i told Chamblis if they want class warfare in this nation they have it- and its’ not the haves versus the have nots it will be those of us that do; do pay are bills, do pay are taxes, do live within our means and do work 6-7 days a week to make ends meet versus the won’ts- those that won’t work, won’t be responsible for themselves, won’t take care of their bills or their kids because they feed off of benefits paid for by people like me...

That's part of the Gang of Six compromise.

I just heard him on Hannity; he said that getting rid of the charitable deduction, and getting rid of the home mortgage interest deduction would cause too much fallout, so there would be some givebacks when eliminating these tax expenditures.

He likened it to Reagan in 1986, that tax expenditures were eliminated in favor of lower tax rates.

He also said "We all know what Washington is like" and that while he thought all the GOP members of the Senate would vote for Cut, Cap, and Balance, that it probably wouldn't pass and they needed a fallback position.

Final outrage was that he said he'd love for the Bush tax cuts to continue, but "let's be realistic, it isn't going to happen."

I drove down to his office (Galleria Mall building, right at I-285 and -75 off of Hwy 41) ...

Staff rat there didn’t even write down my visit, nor did he write down my comments in any kind of log or register.

Anybody else try a visit?

Did Hannity really say that? And why did Saxby go on the show? Was any explanation given?
