Senate rejects 'Cut, Cap, Balance'
Politico ^ | 7/22/2011 | By SCOTT WONG

The Democratic-controlled Senate on Friday narrowly voted to block a Republican measure that would force Congress to pass a stringent balanced budget amendment and cap spending before increasing the debt ceiling.

The legislation, a conservative priority, never had a chance of passing, but the strictly partisan 51-46 vote to table the “Cut, Cap and Balance” bill highlighted the partisan divide in Washington over how to tackle spending and raise the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt limit.

There defense is, a vote to continue debate is not a vote against anything, they will say there were some parts that needs fine tuning, same old crap different day.

If that is their defense, then it's a laughably lame one. Not to mention overused and threadbare.

Of course, no one in the sycophant media will call them on this. As you said, same old crap different day.

I will laugh my ass off if Hussein throws his fellow Demonrats under the bus.

Hussein just might do it.

He gets no credit, of course, and all the blame from his fellow cultists.

He tries to buy them off with the gays in the military and some executive orders on social issues, but the damage is already done to him in the world of the kooks.

They have to worship him, but are angry worshippers. Eventually he MAY get to play the victim, or more likely, the race card—portraying himself as being “assaulted” by the vitriolic Tea Partiers....but that is risky.

Reid can use the word “revenues” all he wants,

but he’s simply saying that he (and the Senate ‘rats) won’t accept any deal that doesn’t confiscate more tax money from people with jobs.

The key point here is that its ONLY REPUBLICANS that have offered any plan... All the rats need to be fired from the Senate.

They could have done that fine tuning and sent it back to the house. That’s not much of a defense.

Screw em. No debt increase then!

Do you have any idea what the consequences of that would be?

We need to be really careful. IMHO, Obama is trying to destroy our economy and our country on purpose so that he can institute socialism and president-for-life for himself after the crash. The Democrats don't have to capitulate at the last minute like they have in some recent state budget battles. “Default” would play right into his (their) plans for destruction. He would manage the “crisis” by creating the maximum chaos, disruption, and social uproar AND THEN BLAME IT ON THE REPUBLICANS.

The media would pound away night and day how the brave Obama is managing the crisis created by the Republicans while our economy sinks lower into the abyss and social chaos ensues. It's a win-win situation for the Obama Regime.

We need to dust off our history books and learn how Hitler came to power in Germany. The History Chanel has done some excellent documentaries on the reasons he was able to take power and the methods he used.

“We’re going to dispose of this legislation as it needs to be, so that President Obama and the speaker can move forward on a [plan] that will have some revenue in it,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

Three trillion dollars just ain't enough, he added.

The gimmick we will be asked to swallow is this crap about 1 trillion in savings by winding down the incomplete wars.... B.S.... look at Norway just today, as we wind down it appears Al-Qaeda is winding back up....

So it is a fantasy to assume that wars will be over with anytime soon and even if you draw down what’s next?

Obama will do anything to stay away from the Social welfare programs and it is exactly that Socialism that is killing this country. It’s the 21st century for God’s sake lets start thinking about our posterity instead of trying to destroy it.

Do you have any idea what the consequences of that would be?

The government has enough funding coming in to fund SS, Medicare Medicaid, the military and make all payments due on outstanding debts.

Consequences? They would have to shut down a bunch of do nothing agencies?

"YES Boehner needs to bring up a bill today that says interest on the debt, Social Security, Medicare, and military pay and benefits shall be paid in full from current income “

Yep. (If not today, then right before the Aug. 2 supposed "deadline", to make the Dems feel even more heat).

I don’t think Obama has the authority to hold up the SS checks. They are not attached to the debt ceiling. Currently the SS fund has billions in surplus. Enough to keep paying SS for months.

....Boehner: “there is no deal”.

Translation: there is no deal right this second, but there will be one. He has already said publicly there will be a deal before the so-called default drop dead date of August 2. Afterwards, he and Obama will high five and head to the golf course.
