Hes been ridiculed by the media. Liberal spinners say he has lost control over the Tea Party. But in fact the Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) had a plan, stuck to it, and is likely to get much of what he wants.
In a remarkable press conference revealed that he had a deal with the White House on large debt reduction and $800 billion in additional revenue to be achieved through tax reform and enhanced enforcement. Boehner brought out his Jell-O analogy once again to describe the White House. He said bluntly, Its the president who walked away from his agreement and demanded more money at the last minute.
Boehner is the composed adult in the room now. He, excuse the expression, called the presidents bluff a viable deal with no tax hikes and Obama blinked (or sloshed in the other direction, to follow the Jell-O imagery).
All of this followed Obamas appearance in which he angrily accused Boehner of walking away from the deal. (According to Boehner, Obama upped the revenue figure at the last moment.)
Boehner now has left the White House on the sidelines, has his troops in order and can craft a deal with the Senate. At this point, the Senate Democrats who have never put forth a plan of any type must be desperate for a deal.....

Yesterday, Boehner held together gracefully at the presser. He laid out his message succinctly.
Anyone with an unbiased eye watched Oslama melt a bit while the Speaker looked like the rock of Gibraltar.
That day of reckoning needs a hero that will be reflected upon for years to come as the slayer of Keynesianism in the United States of America. Why can't it be Boehner?
That baton is in front of Boehner and he has to latch onto it forever more.
After watching yesterday's performance, I think he will.
WaPo gets it right for once.
This works for me: FOBO.
I have to admit that my admiration grows for the Speaker. I am concerned, however, that a fawning article is in the Post..
Hopefully, he won’t pull a Gingrich.
Jennifer Rubin is going to feel eyeball daggers in her back the next time she strolls through the Washington Post newsroom.
How dare she tell the truth about the blundering, lying, incompetent Man-Child president?
I have to admit that my admiration grows for the Speaker. I am concerned, however, that a fawning article is in the Post..
That's been my fear all along, but John has held tough. Hats off to John Boehner.
So far.
I can’t believe that was in the WaPo?
I do not give him an iota of credit. He is under enormous pressure from Tea Party and newbies in the House. Only by keeping up intolerable pressure and not giving him an inch to wiggle will he stick to his guns.
I am beginning to respect “the boner” - he is getting the job done. Basically saying screw BHO, screw the State-run media, we are going to get it right or it will not get done.
What is enhanced enforcement of the tax code? Those are some scary words.
BTW, the reader comments were a riot. Boehner sure has their undies in a twist.
Oh, the horror!
Boehner did very well yesterday.
Hopefully he will stand his ground... we shall see.
Only because Obama doesn’t know what to do.
If there were still people in the Washington Post newsroom, you mean... the Post has been cutting back for quite a while and merged with its web site.
Take a look at the reader responses to the actual WAPO article. It clearly shows you what’s wrong within the beltway. These morons actually see FUBO as taking the right and “moral” track. Just incredible!
I wonder when we are going to get the promised back and forth notes that (.)bama spoke about in his presser yesterday...you know, the “we have the details we will make available back stage.”
His presser went off the rails yesterday as even he could not keep an adult attitude while answering the spoon fed pablum questions sent to the press for lead in material.
No More
Well, they’re stealin’ his food
They’re stealin’ his car
Why don’t he say - NO MORE?
They’re stealin’ his house
They’re stealin’ his clothes
Why don’t he just say stop?
Well, he don’t have a voice
He don’t have a word
He’s not yet born into this here w’rld
We’re stealin’ his food
We’re stealin’ his car
Isn’t that just fine?
We’ve got choc’late and wine
We’re stealin’ his house
We’re stealin’ his clothes
Isn’t that just grand?
We’ll retire on the sand
What a way to go
We can die and can know
We stole and stole some more
Kept on stealin’ stealin’ stealin’ - till there was no mo’
Or are you ready to say
We can’t go on this way?
Are you ready to shine
And put it on the line?
You can be his voice
You can say no more
He can have a voice
He can scream and shout - (you can scream and shout)
I say, no more stealin’ his food
No more stealin’ his car
Don’t care what you say
Don’t care who you are
No more stealin’ his house
No more stealin’ his clothes
I don’t care what you say
Don’t care who you are
Don’t care who you are
No more
