I’m not even sure about a three-race loss. It would be difficult, but I believe Palin or someone like her would take 25% the moment the moment she announced a new party bid (I’m not going to call it third party because I believe it would replace the Repubics in a few months).
Once that happens, we’d have Obama at 40, Palin at 25, and Romney at a measly 15-20, with 15-20 undecided. Now, 5-10% of those in the Romney camp would be conservatives averse to abandoning the GOP. Would they be averse to doing so with the GOP in third party status? I think not. Let’s add 7.5% to Palin’s total, so now we have 40 Dem-32.5 Con-12.5 Rep-15 Undecided. Now, undecideds break 80-20 for the challenger, in this case Palin, so now we have 43 Dem, 44.5 Con, and 12.5 Repubic. That actually leaves some margin for error, and it could even work out better than that.
It could by the hair on our chinny chin chin, but I could see a three way race falling for Palin. I’d much prefer working through the GOP, but I’m not going to say it’s impossible even in three way race. In a four way race, though, I cannot see anyone but Palin winning.
I think Rush is right about what’s going on with Boehner’s Bill. If either passes, and say that one does. Then Reid takes it and reshapes it to suit the democrates and tosses it back to Boehner, but now it’s the “REID BILL” and will be presented as that....which basically becomes the Obama Bill.
Now what are the Republicans going to do....they’re backed in a corner. If they sign it they’re signing the Obama/Reid Bill which after passing the Senate and all the tweaks Reid does to it that’s exactly what it is. So the Democrates and Obama will be the heros of the day.
If the Rep’s. don’t sign it then they’ll be accused of causing whatever the fallout will be come Aug. 3rd without a bill.
So Boehner has to sit still....don’t put it up for a vote at all. Let the Democrates eat this and oBama too...neither of which has a bill of their own on the table. There’s no other way out of this as I see it...or the republicans will go down with this and the Democrates will come out smelling like a rose.

I think I heard Levin say last night, that the Republicans ought to just tell Harry Reid that they already passed and submitted a bill for the Senate to vote on, and don’t do another damn thing, until Reid puts it up for a vote.
I agree with Levin. Boehner should simply stop all House business until Harry Reid allows the Senate to do its constitutional duty.
Now who’s court is the ball in?

Boehner should have suspended all House business and put Harry Reid on notice that not another damn thing was going to move, until he allowed the House CC&B bill to go to the Senate floor for a vote.
All this dicking around with alternative bills is like a game of three card Monty. It's pissing me off no end, what's going on up there.

Yes...but if Reid gets it he’s going to tweak it into whatever the democrates want (obama)....then throw it back to the republicans...which then makes it a ‘Reid Bill’ not a ‘Boehner’ bill...and they will play that up Huge....especially if Obama signs it.
In other words Reid will not put it up for a vote as it stands.....change it and give it back to Boehener....who won’t agree so then it will look like the Republicans are holding things up...that they compromised...Rebulicans wouldn’t.
What I would really like to see is lines engraved in bronze....Or at least chiseled in granite!
