Interesting that there is no face on the head of the tea party, just some group not bending to the pressure to compromise.

The House already sent a debt bill to the Senate, they should just adjourn and stay in town until the Senate submits a counter proposal to the original bill.

The Senate is just going to snub every proposal coming their way unless it includes more spending.

I still get a kick out of the Senate trying to originate a spending bill when it can only happen from the House.

Gridlock...right on! If the underlying current is that O’bummer and the Senate is in lame duck session already because they can’t force to House conform then I like it.

NSA has to go, EPA has to go, BLM has to go, Dept. of Edumacation has to go, healthcare has to go...on and on until the budget is balanced.

"I still get a kick out of the Senate trying to originate a spending bill when it can only happen from the House."

True 'nuff. Also, the house can take suggestions from wherever they choose but they shouldn't give the senate any more consideration than they give any other person or organization. Would they vote on a bill Palin submitted?

“Her timing was perfect!”

New York Slimes article even admits her timing on this and other issues is impeccable.

I got a kick out of the lib’s comments on the NYT article, they are self flagellating themselves with thorn branches , renting their unicorn clothing and donning hair shirts.

“We already had both houses and the Presidency. Nothing happened, except pushing through more big government programs.”

That is a DAMN good point. I remember the 80s and 90s like yesterday and used to DREAM of the day that we controlled DC. So we control DC with a president that said he would be a conservative and what do we get: A huge increase in the Department of Education, TWO attempts at Amnesty, and a huge expansion of Medicare.

And people have the NERVE to ask why there’s a Tea Party?

“2: Immediate, across-the-board 10% reduction in spending authority from FY2011 levels in FY2012 for all non-Social Security and non-Medicare (i.e. non-FICA-tax-funded) Federal programs, without exception—yes, that includes defense. That’s an actual, real, live, no fudging 10% haircut for the entire Federal Government—ALL of it.”

Sorry, I still think national defense is critical, and the Chinese are playing serious (i.e., I have children that I worry about). So swap it around - leave defense alone, and take the 10% out of Winnebego-drivers who still collect SS and Medicare.

So as president she would be less able to push forward conservative principals? Isn’t that like saying that Reagan
would have been more effective as Governor of California?

Exactly how effective would OB have been pushing his marxist adgenda through without taking the seat of power!

no, it did not fall flat. It was post poned. Theu did not believe that they had the votes to pass it at that point in time. They will probably pass it tis evening because it is Friday and by the time the news gets out, the deed will be done.

This bill is a trap set by the Democrats. As Limbaugh explained yesterday, Reid will take it and delete the portions he doesn't like and add what he wants and then send it back to the House. Then If the Republicans do not pass it as is, the media and Democrats blame the Republicans. If passed, the media pointsout that it was also the Republicans that o.k.ed tax hikes. And it does not cut spending.

Sarah Palin sees theough the fast one Boner is trying to pull.

The talking point du jour is: you can’t change things when you only control 1/2 of 1/3 of the govt. That’s everywhere.

They didn't try when they had 2/3 of the government. Why should we expect anything different now?

The talking point du jour is: you can’t change things when you only control 1/2 of 1/3 of the govt. That’s everywhere.

It's also a fact.

In fact, conservatives don't even control that much, as the House has three factions (Democrats, establishment Republicans and conservative Republican). The establishment Republicans have been able to appear non-existent in this fiasco, but the have had huge (perhaps controlling) input into this bill which has been presented as a take it or leave it option to conservatives.

Boehner, should not surprised that so many have opted to leave it.

There will be legislation passed by both houses with the support of the Democrats and the establishment Republicans, but the TEA party will be on the sidelines.

You can add Thomas Sowell, Paul Ryan, and Alan West to those who support the Speaker. RINOS all, I presume?

The list need not be exhaustive, just fair and honest.
